Am I missing something. I'm not seeing a header that I can connect my case front connection to. I have the 3.0 connections and everything else. If there isn't one, does anyone know of a way of adding an internal connection? The back of the case one is nice, albiet not usable based on physical location and the front one on the case is much preferred. I have been doing a lot of searching and not finding any products that will add an internal header that I can connect to. I do realize they need power connections and use a PCIE-4 connection generally. Any help would be greatly appreaciated.

Nope, not missing something. The X299 Dark only has 2 USB 2.0 Headers and 1 USB 3.0 Header. On the Back I/O you have 1 USB 3.1 type A and 1 USB 3.1 type C Port You need this USB 3.1 Front Panel Header to USB 3.0 20 Pin Header Converter but I have never seen one. Some use an Extension Cable and plug it in the Port on the Back I/O Panel.

That's what I thought. All of the back ports are nice but having them out the front of your case is generally better. I did find this product https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MQUONVV/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1that I think does what I'm looking for. It connects to my front case cable. Kinda pricy for a single port but it's the only thing that I think will do it. Anyone have any experience with this card on this motherboard? Any issues etc?

Thanks for the feedback startekselva but I'm looking for 3.1 Gen 2 (10 GB/s) out the front. The port you mentioned is 3.0 not 3.1 and the connectors that you mention don't give me 3.1, just additional 2.0 ports etc. Bcavnaugh the card you linked doesn't have an internal 3.1 header, just a power connection so that doesn't work. I did look long at that one (if it does am I just missing it?) The case I have is the Thermaltake Level 20 GT. All of the connections from the front panel connect up except the 3.1 USB-C port.

It predates the new USB-3.1 Gen 2 design and uses the 19 pin design. I think I have it figured out and ordered the card I linked above. I'll know in a few days when it gets here if it's the right part. According to the vendor site on the product it is and it uses the old 19 pin design.

Any updates on this? I have a Corsair 1000D which has 2x usb-c inputs on its front panel. But as we all know, the x299 dark doesn’t have usb-c input (z390 dark will have them though).
The 19-pin usb 3.1 header is not the same as a usb-c internal header.
However, will convertinf the usb-c to a usb 3.1 19-pin cable then plugging that into a pcie card with said 19-pin 3.1 head on it work? If so, will it also maintain the 10Gbps usb-c standard?
Thanks

Just looked up some info on that Delock 89603 • Connectors: internal: 1 x SuperSpeed USB 10 Gbps (USB 3.1 Gen 2) key A 20 pin female 1 x SATA 15 pin power plug 1 x PCI Express x4, V3.0
Product Page - https://www.delock.de/pro...G_89603/dokumente.html Edit: Side note for anyone looking at this thread and needs an USB 3.0 internal Hub like the NZXT USB 2.0 there is the Sabrent 5 Port Internal USB 3.0 Hub Controller I need one of these for my Lian Li case, as it has 2 connectors from the front and the Dark only has the 1 on the board https://www.amazon.com/Sa...-HB-INTR/dp/B0794V75LB
