Hi guys,
I just ordered the EVGA Z370 Classified K + i5 9600k today. I just wondering if the MB will come with the latest Bios version to support the 9th CPUs.
Thanks a lot.

The answer is yes if you bought the motherboard directly from evga.

Buying from amazon you could get a board that doesn't have the latest bios.

Get this cheap CPU to update the bios: https://www.frys.com/prod...sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG
If you live close to one of the Fry's. Otherwise EVGA would need to RMA it for you. Give them a call.

OK. that's strange because I get the Amazon link from EVGA Website. I am from New Zealand so buying from AMZ is easier and faster.

It's really expensive to buy CPU in NZ for just updating BIOS. I think I will return and get my refund if the MB doesn't come with the latest BIOS and buy another brand.

For the time and money to do that you could contact EVGA and see if they would cross ship a new board with an updated bios?

I haven't received the MB yet. It'll takes 10 days from US to New Zealand. I will how it goes.  Thanks

Question how bad is this vdroop issue on the z370 classified k motherboard? Reviews claim it is an issue.

Don't computer retail/repair stores offer a BIOS update service? Gotta be cheaper (and faster) than shipping a board back to the USA.

I'm in the US and I'm in the RMA process of updating the BIOS of the exact board.  So far the process has been painless.  I would reach out to their support or find a local PC Repair shop and pay them to do it or atleast check it.

The other option is to go with the 8700k and its a non issue.

    oc3d.net z370 Classified K review
It turns out in EVGA BIOS when you enable their version of load line calibration (they just call it Vdroop) you are basically turning ON vdroop and in the exat opposite to all other brands you disable the option to make it better. So the auto option is actually disabled and enabling it makes the board droop from 1.3v to 1.22. Its utterly backwards and caused us a lot of confusion.

    Is this what you mean?

Your motherboard bios needs to be updated.

The answer is yes if you bought the motherboard directly from evga.

I would like to note, that this does depend on the date it was packaged as well. If the product was packaged prior to the BIOS becoming available, it would not. For the most part, yes it should have the most up to date BIOS.

Serial number does not provide information on bios of the mobo unforunately. Also, I was wondering if the Intel G4900 Celeron is compatible with the Classified K Z370. I've seen people bring it up as a cheap way to update your bios but no one has really confirmed if it's compatible with it.

I bought 2 from amazon.  All EVGA products, 750 Gold Power, 280 Cooler, 2080 Ti XC2, Z370 Classified K, twice...  After the prick from support asked about an RMA, and I told him I used a i9 9900K processor and double checked it with a i5 6600K.  He had a tone and warned me that if the pins were bent he wouldn't take it back and it'd cost $280 down to get it sent to me fast cross ship.  I don't see that great and bought another one from Amazon as its not available newegg or evga ....  New board, almost certainly a good board posted 18 not C.  I run all EVGA boards as long as I can get them did Asus a couple times, and Giga maybe once.  All good till now.  We use a real time POS system at work and I had data starting to corrupt and need to correct it.  No IT people, just me, owner/manager.  So 4 people waiting to work on it, and I get this prick on the phone that can't say the i5 won't boot it.  I have to go back and read dig for a thread...  So to fix it, have to RMA it for a bios ... digging advice now ... that's not support!  I'm not buying another cpu to up load a bios or sending it back to catch an ****.  Been here for years, they know it.  I want a new bios on a new board shipped fast and any other answer is me burning EVGA in every way and I'll put employees to it at least 4 hours a day 5 days a week and 2 on Saturday.

I am sorry but I am going to be a prick here - you don't use / build a system for POS that your company depends on with an gaming motherboard. You go buy a system from someone like https://www.ixsystems.com/  or some one like them that has systems ready on the shelf and good warranties. You get a prebuilt system that has been burned in and is ready to go. If your current system / stuff fails it is because you made a poor business decision. Who am I to make such a statement? Someone that has dealt with servers / workstations in an work environment - if a downed system will cost you money you cannot afford to waste time - no matter how good your system building skills are.

All of those boards that are on Amazon are old stock and were already out of EVGA's hands when these new CPUs hit the market.
I don't know who you talked too at EVGA and I am not making excuses for them but they are just like anyone else - if you call up all mad and hotheaded right off the bat then you are not doing yourself a favor. I am not saying you have to kiss booty. The one and only time I have had to deal with them I didn't really have any issues getting another board sent out.
