They did announce they are going to be re-sending out actual canvas bags to people , after the online, relentless bashing they've been taking....

Why couldn't Bethesda have been the ones to have their offices raided instead of Starbreeze's offices? So far we've had 2 studios go under(Telltale & Carbine Studios), 1 being outed as toxic as hell towards female employees and apparently male employees(Riot Games), 1 getting nailed hard by it's huge community for introducing a mobile game at a pc\console exclusive convention(Blizzard) and now we top it all off with Bethesda and now Starbreeze. Man 2018 really became a dumpster fire so hopefully 2019 gets better for the industry.

Developers are so bound to cookie cutter mechanics and get rich quick schemes with re-skinning old games, they've lost the meaning of innovation. All I see nowadays are a mix of battle royale, extravagant avatar customization, loot boxes, open sandboxes and rehashing of gameplay that has worked in the past. Seems like they're so bound by company policies, they've hit an innovation wall about a decade ago.

I want to see dynamic events where several different AI's/deep learning manage a game together where quests crossover between other players and no one quest is the same, either friendly or hostile. I could go on, but I feel I've made my point.

If the damned bean counters and CEOs and other board room members stopped running these game companies like a sweat shop factory then we could start seeing innovation once more but it won't happen cause to them money is more precious than innovation and how the employees feel and think. It's sad how it took Telltale to crash and burn hard to really show how bad it is in the industry. Of course what went down with Riot Games hasn't been helpful either. As I've said in a earlier post it's been a bad year for 2018 and if things don't get any better it's going to be a second era video game industry crash like what happened in the 80s. In fact it kind of feels like we're already headed in that direction.

It's quite disappointing. We see interesting trailers only to be let down thereafter. It has become the norm these days. I haven't bought or installed a new game in ages it seems.

2018 was terrible for PC gaming. With battle royal everywhere, good games being delayed, and a bunch of massive multiplatform flops like Battlefield and Fallout. Was watching a video on YouTube discussing that we are currently in a video game crash and the guy is 100% correct. The big players yearly releases and lazy attitudes are finally catching up to their stock prices. 2019 will be pretty amazing, but it's won't be because of the big game publishers.

Doesn't help that what happened to Telltale and Riot exposed some very ugly truths about what's been going on behind the scenes in terms of how these companies and their employees are being run. Heck I enjoyed watching as the CEO of Rockstar stumbled over his own words while having his own employees "vouch" for him that his company wasn't really pushing them too hard during the last development stages of RDR2. Honestly if he had come out PRIOR to the fall of Telltale Games and said they were grinding hardcore to finish the game no one would of cared but nope he had to have real bad timing with his own words.

But then there would be no ads, no pay-to-win DLC, no freeze-ups when your BT's three seasons of Black Mirror - none of the things that make modern gaming what it is.  This is heresy.
