Hello,

I have just purchased an EVGA Z370 Classified K motherboard (P/N ) and had a question about sourcing a Wi-Fi adapter for installing in the M.2 2230 Key E slot.  My plan is to get a M.2 2230 card with vPro, as I believe the board has support for Intel's since the motherboard manual mentions Intel ME drivers.

So, my first question: Is this correct? The price difference between the vPro and non-vPro versions of the card isn't much, but I would like to ensure I get the correct part.

My second question is if someone can recommend a source for a PC slot bracket with cut-outs for the antennas?

As best as I can determine, the motherboard does not come with this part, and while it is easy enough to find the card and antennas, I cannot seem to find a PC slot bracket for mounting the latter.

Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

Regards,

I have an "Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265 Desktop Kit" (model # 8265NGWMG.DTX1) installed and working fine with my Classified K. Besides the M2. E key adapter, the kit portion come with the PCI (both standard and low profile) brackets, antenna and leads.

Hello,

Thank you for the reply @Blaise.  I was hoping just to purchase a 9260 card and PCI bracket, antennas and leads without having to get an 8265 card (although I suppose I could use it to upgrade a machine with a 7260 card still in it...).

I installed the new AC 1550 Killer (it is the same of Intel 9260, but supports the killer suite like ethernet ports) without problems on Classified K, so I obtained also the Bluetooth 5.0

This card works fine then, that's good to know! I was hoping that would be the case, as this looks like the ideal way to add WiFi to this board.

As for the Intel cards the 9260 is the current top PCIe/USB M.2e card anything newer at the moment is listed as M.2: CNVio under "System Interface Type" and is not compatable

Hello,

Yes.  From looking at the product page, it looks like a (or newer) chipset is required for support.  The card is, however, functionally identical to the 9560, but capable of interfacing with the Z370 chipset via the M.2 2230 Key E slot.

Hello,

I ended up finding a good deal on the kit, so have ordered that along with a 9260 card.  Thank you for the suggestion!

Cable specs are: MHF IV to RP-SMA with leght of at least 20cm. I bought a couple of this from DeLOCK.de
About the antennas, I used two of an old Asus Router, in fact they are a little bit long. :D

I've got the AX1650x card from Killer installed via PCIe but would love to move it to the M.2 Key-E slot.  Has anyone been successful in using it?  It doesn't look like it'll retain the Bluetooth functionality unless you use the USB connection on the PCB of the card itself and I'm not immediately certain how to get the antennas routed since the holes are currently covered.  Is it as simple as removing the shroud and popping the holes out?
