Yeah, come on, guys.  It's a motherboard, not an R.Kelly album.  The longer you go without giving us *any* information, the more we're going to assume there's something wrong with the product.  My 9900K just shipped and will be here Friday.  The only thing holding me up now is the lack of product on your end, and that Gigabyte Extreme board is looking like it wants to eat your lunch, and hang the cost at this point.

My i9 9900k did the same, scheduled to arrive Friday.

Just waiting on that Dark board now.

I feel for you guys.

I'd like an z390 FTW, alas, I am European so I will be waiting a lot more it seems.
To add insult to injury, EVGA is advertising with the FTW on the mainpage. If your region is set to EU however, clicking it will give you an error.

It seems as if waiting is what it will be.

I just installed my Z390 FTW yesterday with a 9900k at 5ghz (all-core). As beautiful as the Dark is, I just can't find a reason to step-up. I won't use it to it's overclocking potential with a 360mm rad. I'm pretty happy with my FTW build.

5 GHz on all cores, great to hear! That is what I am hoping for.

This sounds pretty awesome. The only thing stopping me from doing this is that I have two NVMe m.2 ssds and I don’t want one of them gimped by a PCIe x1 slot. Also, I have two beautiful yellow Primochill 360 rads ready and rearing to go. Also, I had my 9900k delidded. It sounds ridiculous now that I lay it all out there.

Yeah I have two of the m.2 Nvme drives for the Dark board.
AFAIK all I will be losing is PE-3 slot which I can live with.

That'll be a nice layout! If I had more NVMe or GPU's I'd probably make the hop over to X299. I don't plan on filling up this 1tb 970 Evo anytime soon. I am very tempted to send my 9900k to Silicon Lottery to be delidded and binned. I just don't want to suffer the downtime.

Should be pretty easy for you. I just left voltage on auto, it's giving it 1.36v, which is probably too high, I'll fine tune later. It's been pretty stable. 5.2ghz will take work to make stable as I had some crashes after using OC Robot for 5.2ghz @1.4v

Honestly, thought about it. It wouldn’t have been much more expensive to jump to X299. At this point though, I’m pretty much committed to Z390. How I arrived at the current situation is a story both long and tedious. Let’s just say that I started by reserving a 7900x from microcenter because it was on sale. I got talked out of that and bought a Threadripper. I decided it was not good for my use case. I then returned the 2950x and mobo, but my 7900x was gone. Because of the opportunity, I bought the 9900k that day with the ASUS board I returned last Friday. I’m sick of platform changes and disappointing motherboards; I just want to build my PC. Release the Dark already, EVGA. I’m begging you. Please.

HAHA! Dude, I hear ya! Similar story here, just not as long. Up until yesterday I was set on stepping up just because the Dark is so pretty. But after doing all this work, I really don't feel like swapping another mobo lol. The FTW isn't the prettiest board but after installing it in my case it fits the aesthetic a lot better than I imagined.

So the z390 dark is no longer on the front of the evga website. Is this a good or bad sign?

It's still there - the first one listed above the FTW, just a little different overall placement.
Still says "Coming Soon". I check it daily, at least a handful of times.

Are you referring to the supplemental 6pin in the bottom left of the board? If so than yea I would use it. I'm planning on it.

yea I was hoping for a little more details too since the DARK seems to have been delayed from sometime nov to the end of nov now sometime in dec. I had the chance of purchasing a FTW3 2080 Ti today but ultimately decided to hold out as I won't have anything to plug it into even if I can have one on hand.

Yeah, honestly the Z390 Designare is looking pretty decent as an alternative that doesn't cost $550 like the Aorus Xtreme.  I *really* want the DARK, but I also want more concrete information on when to expect it.

The frustration mounts. I may just go for another board. If they don’t want to give us concrete information, they obviously don’t want our business.

+1 on that, since I don't have another motherboard sitting around I got nothing to plug anything into. Just a waiting game now. I tried to return as much as possible these two weeks just in case if the other component doesn't actually work.

To you guys waiting for the Z390 Dark - this waiting is part of paying your dues
I had to go through the waiting game when the X299 Dark was released, sitting on hardware waiting for the motherboard
Had to wait for the 1080ti FTW3s to be in stock (Got min in the middle of no stock + high prices), waited (3 months) for an EVGA SuperNOVA 1200 P2 to be in stock

But in the end I am happy with my parts

So, EVGA is hazing us?

No, I get what you are trying to say, but I don’t see how it is “paying dues”. Nobody owes EVGA anything. If you are trying to say that waiting is part of the opportunity cost to have what we really want, sure. That’s just the way things work. By that same token, by not releasing the board in a timely manner, EVGA could be losing out on customers. It goes both ways.

I didn't intend to make sound like an EVGA hazing or that we owed them anything I just meant new tech in general. I guess my personal examples being all EVGA products made it look that way.

I am just wondering what "coming soon" actually means.
I have a feeling EVGA soon may be a little different than what I consider soon...

Ah well, it will get released eventually then I will have it and the waiting will become a distant memory.

I didn't intend to make sound like an EVGA hazing or that we owed them anything I just meant new tech in general. I guess my personal examples being all EVGA products made it look that way.

I mean, I was being facetious when I said that. I knew what you meant. The board will come out eventually, but it would be nice to get some updates every once in a while. I was hoping to build over Thanksgiving. That’s obviously not happening. I won’t be around a good chunk of December, so even if the board comes out then, I won’t be building my system until after the new year. At that point, I might as well have waited to see what Zen 3 will bring. It’s just a little frustrating. I get it, but it’s frustrating.

Yeah, I see that Gigabyte (a company that I'd have NEVER considered buying a board from in the past) has really brought their A-game with the Designare and AORUS Master (the Extreme is just too damned expensive), and I can buy both right now for ~$270-290.  I still want the DARK, but I also want to know around *when* in "December" it can be expected to be available, because Provantage only has a 30 day return window from the date of the invoice.  I don't think it's out of the question to ask for rough estimates on availability.

It would be really cool to have similar levels and degrees of communication as the 2080ti ftw3 order thread on the graphics forum here. We see folks from EVGA providing updates on when the next round of cards will be available for purchase, letting people know when the F5 mashing should commence. Mind you that is an already released product, so not totally apples to apples. But in my personal opinion this creates a bit of a precedent on the level of communication provided to consumers by evga. Even a statement that provides a general idea or range of when it can be expected is enough. The flip side is it sucks to hear a premature availability date only to have it postponed, so better to hear something only when a legitimately realistic date or date range has been determined.

Regardless of all that, I do also believe in the saying that it's ready when it's ready. Willing to wait for awesomeness and looking forward to said awesomeness. I'm doing everything I can to plan and prep my build ahead of time in the interim.
