Never had this board but I did show up to a LAN party where 3 of them had the exact same MAC address. Fun times were had by the network staff hehe.

Nice offer! I still have my old AR board running a linux machine I don't use much anymore, so I've entered and crossing my fingers. Wish I had noticed this earlier today though.

Why? Doesn't make sense to take apart a system that has worked for 12 yrs. and render it completely useless except for the SATA I or II drives. Not to mention all the old parts that you can't sell because no one wants that old tech. Oh yeah then you need a new cpu, cooler, ram, copy of windows and so on for a lousy $220 mobo I would have to spend at least a $1000 to make it operational not worth it. I would just spend the extra $220 in a new build and keep the old one for my kids. Why not make it to were it makes some sense were you don't have to ruin a perfectly good pc? Like send in a test picture or the pc at work or something of that nature with the date or a time stamp like in 3D mark instead of the actual part.

Maybe they do this to honor lifetime warranty on the older parts when this was the deal.
Maybe they just know there are people like me with a bin of old parts and if I'm picked that $220 gift will inspire a new build and like you said spend $1000 I wasn't py on
Either way. Thanks EVGA for doing this. My wife has her fingers crossed that I don't win.

Agree. When I saw the promotion I was hesitated. My 680i is still running. With 2 gigabyte ethernet and a lot of sata ports, it's still good enough for a simple storage system. Taking out the mobo means I need to spend more money for new cpu and ram at least, and find a way to deal with those old hard drives. It would be a lot easier if they told people to run a software on the pc and upload the results with some kind of signature. Anyway, I forgot to check back on this thread and missed the deadline, so I dont need to debate with myself now :)

Same here. Had to laugh after dusting it out ended up playing DMC for like 4 hours. The board still works perfect. I think it speaks to the quality can't even remember how long I've had this board.
