I bought a EVGA motherboard back in 2015. It is the Z97 Classified and it has been solid up until now. Recently I did a couple upgrades to my system. I got a new case, GPU, and PSU. After installing everything I tried booting for the first time and the PC never booted. Motherboard error code was 55 which pertains to system memory. I have 32 gigs DDR3 C11 Corasir Dominator Platinum in all 4 RAM slots. All slots worked before now slots 3 and 4 only work. Slots 1 and 2 do not work at all anymore and I tried CMOS reset and still nothing. Anyone have any idea what is going on?

PC Specs:
-Intel I7 4790K (no OC atm)
-EVGA Z97 Classified Motherboard
-16 Gigs Corsair Dominator Platinum (was 32)
-Corsair HXI 850 PSU
-ASUS RTX 2080

Yes, I have 4x8 and yes I have. That is how I narrowed it down this far. I has to be something with the board or bios. I mean there could be a small chance of static damage, but I was thinking that would probably be to rare to happen that way.

But yes, I tried all the RAM and every stick works just not in the 1 and 2 slots.

It could be either the motherboard or the CPU. I’d suggest remounting the CPU just to try it.

Check for bent or damaged CPU socket pins
