Hello,

I recently bought a EVGA GTX 1080 Ti SC2 Gaming locally and noticed that the fans have developed a strange buzzing/rattling sound as if the bearings are worn out. Here is a quick video I have recorded ramping the fans from 0% to 20% and 40%, back to 0%.

Does this sound normal for this card? If not, is there any way I can fix this from my end, or should I send it in for warranty service since it is still under warranty?

I think the fans may just need lubrication, but in order to do that I'll have to remove the stickers from the underside of the fan hubs to apply some oil. Would doing that void the warranty? I want to check before I do anything drastic.

Rather than mess around with the fans and risk voiding the warranty, I've decided to RMA the card. Might as well just use the warranty service and get it repaired or replaced. Should have just bought a brand new RTX 2080 XC card instead, but oh well.

Doesn't sound normal. You could give this a try before rma'ing.

Tried that, didn't work unfortunately. The card is on the way to the RMA center now.
