Intel is most def not going to do something unless its to benefit them in a big way down the road. So lets look down the road....... could this be signaling a major arch change by them?!? Maybe the release of a backdoor that the FBI wants so bad?!? David Hoffman said: "The US needs a privacy law that both protects consumer privacy and creates a framework in which important new industries can prosper." Maybe they have a new money making data vacuuming scheme and don't want to start using it or reveal it until they can make sure there asses aren't on the hook?!?! no matter what its gotta make you ask what are they up to?!?!? judging by there past.
