They replaced mine. No issues since other than one fans rpm is different than the other two at the same percentage. Other than that it’s been good to go.

It's designed like that to cool off that focused section of the PCB.

The fan is spinning lower, not faster.  It's Fan 1.  At 40%, which is what I run as a minimum when idle, Fan 1 is at 1200RPM and Fans 2 &3 are 1350RPM.  On a factory fan curve these fans would be off at 30C.

For those experiencing the issue where sometimes only 2 fans are showing, please try this PX1 version:

Tried this and other troubleshooting advice and it's still only showing two fans.

I'm having the same issue now, I reset my computer and install X1 back on computer, and have three Lights on my card and having it only showing 2 Fans and can't control LEDs anymore .

My 2080ti ftw3 ultra has the same fault for the second time. The two cards have been in normal use for nearly two months. Now it seems that RMA is the only way

I have been suffering from this fault for several months without RMA. Two days ago, I installed evga precision X1 1.0.3. After I inadvertently opened it, I unexpectedly installed firmware update, and then the fault disappeared for two days. Would you like to ask if RMA is not needed?

No need to rma if the issue is fixed.

Re: 2080ti FTW3 Fan + 3 Red LED ISSUE on Start up 2020/04/10 13:01:23 (permalink)
I've been having relatively the same issue with the 100% middle fan, 3 red LEDs, and Precision X1 only showing the two idle fans...but my situation is slightly different. My 2080 Ti FTW3 runs completely fine until I put the computer to sleep and then wake it. That's when I experience the issue reported in this thread and it can't be fixed until I completely shutdown the computer.

Here's the interesting part though. The card ran fine in my system until I replaced the motherboard (only swapped the motherboard and nothing else), that's when I started experiencing the issue. I also tried the 2080 Ti in a different PC and it isn't having this issue. So I thought it was my new motherboard, but when I plug my 1080 Ti FTW3 into it there aren't any issues either. I spoke to MSI technical support and they say they don't believe its the motherboard and the two components are compatible. I spoke with EVGA technical support who also indicated the two components are compatible and recommended that I try the GPU in a different PC to rule it out. So now both companies have ruled out their respective products as the cause of my issue and I don't know what to do.

This is my system:

AMD Ryzen 3700x
MSI MEG X570 Unify
EVGA RTX 2080 Ti FTW3 Ultra
32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3200

Does anyone have a recommendation on how to proceed with my issue?

To get rid of the 3 red light issue try enabling erp mode inside the motherboard bios if your motherboard supports that feature.

I formatted as my first step in troubleshooting and it didn’t work. Also tried enabling erp mode but that didn’t seem to make a difference. I’ve also updated to the latest motherboard BIOS and GPU/chipset drivers.

Not sure if the problem is getting worse as I just had the issue occur on start up and no longer just when waking the computer up from sleep. I’m likely going to try swapping out the motherboard a second time and hope the third one is a charm and has no issues.

Has RMA’ing the GPU resolved the issue for everyone or have people run into the issue again on replacement units?

I'm encountering this issue now. PSU is corsair gold 1200AX. It's good according to power supply testers. Evga Rtx 2080 ti ftw. X99 evga ftw board. 16GB DDR4, Current Nvidia drivers. We lost power over nightand my PC restarted. Now, this happens after most reboots. If I shut down, power off, and unplug my power, sometimes it starts fine after plugging it back in and starting up cold.
I went to evga and grabbed bios, firmware, chipset. Went to Nvidia and reinstalled 445.75.
Tried with and without fast boot and noticed same behaviors.
Issue persists.

Re: 2080ti FTW3 Fan + 3 Red LED ISSUE on Start up 2020/04/13 09:26:46 (permalink)
I’m having a new PSU delivered tomorrow to see if that is potentially the cause. Otherwise, I’m going to request an RMA of the card to see if I’ll be one of the lucky ones where it’ll resolve the issue.

I’ve put my previous GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 and a spare GTX 1060 in my new motherboard and didn’t have any issues. So my issue is specific to my RTX 2080 Ti FTW3 Ultra and MSI MEG X570 Unify combination. From what I’ve seen other brands do not appear to be having similar issues so it seems like the issue is tied to something EVGA is using with these cards.

There doesn’t appear to be a universal fix for this issue either. Many people still have the issue after applying the MCU update and even after RMA’ing.

I really hope that EVGA is still looking into this...

None of the surge protectors or fuses popped in the house. No light bulbs even. I've got power conditioner on it too. I get it wouldn't take much, but was thinking the protection I had on it would've tripped too if there'd been anything that spiked.

Not a Ti, but I get the three red LEDs nearly every time I go to a more overclocked profile in BIOS.

Turning PC off, turning PSU off, pressing PC power switch to drain board caps, turning PSU on, turning PC on 'fixs' it... until the next time.
