I'm hoping my carelessness can help some people out there before they purchase a NVlink that will not fit in their system as I assumed that these bridges would be the same size.  This is specifically regarding two of the new RTX cards running in SLI with a water bridge (only tested EK) however it may be a problem with other brands.
Compare:

Significantly bulkier, but that's not the problem which is the length of the sides:

Here illustrated in my build.  Notice the distance from the tip of the reference bridge to the water bridge:

Before I picked up the bridge, I asked EK if there was enough room for the NVlink.  They stated "we engineered the blocks and terminals specifically with that in mind".  They did--the reference model (which is all they had at the time, and I am not blaming them).  Just wanted you guys to be careful before purchasing.

Any luck finding out? I'm not going to be using a water bridge, but still trying to figure out if I need to exchange my EVGA bridge for a NVIDIA version.

I returned my EVGA bridge so unfortunately I can't test it.
