Guys it's time to upgrade GPU.
Economic situation in region not allow me to buy anything above GTX1080Ti.

I had 2-3 options in my country and I hope you can help me.
ASUS GTX1080Ti Poseidon 580 euro cost with 2 years warranty
ASUS GTX1080Ti Founders Edition cost 450 euro but without warranty and work in miner 6 months.

I asked because GTX1080Ti Poseidon is not real watercooling card and with her I got only highly overclocked GTX1080Ti,
faster card in any situation that RTX2080 and chance to cool her down enough to fans stay silent and temps to stay below 60-65C.
Reviews say around 55C but I stronlgly believe that Poseidon is closer to 65C.
Good thing is because he have metal plate over VRM and over memory chips but that's not real custom loop.

I know, I would pay 550 euro instantly for EVGA GTX1080Ti Founders Edition with at least 1 year warranty and bought cheapest available Heatkiller Acrylic block for 90 euro from Caseking.de
Warranty with Poseidon is not problem, that finish same guy who bring me case, memory, fans, and many other hardware and I bought everything from him, GPU is from Hungary and he finish that to many many people very easy. If she die store owe me 1100 euro or replacement. From that side no worry for warranty.
Positive thing is because I have buyers for 780Ti for 160 euro. That mean GPU cost me 420 Poseidon or 290 euro Founders Edition + waterblock.
For Founders Edition best I can get is one week of testing, after that if she die I have no GPU.

Price in store are Poseidon 1070 euro more expensive than 2080 Turbo.
Cheapest EVGA GTX1080Ti SC I look for because option to install waterblock is over 800 euro from Hungary.
Only that stay available, no more other models.

What to do but I need fast to think, because one Poseidon brand new without warranty is sold instantly for 600 euro, their price on Ebay reach 800-850$ bid for used cards.
That's fast GTX1080Ti, work cool but it's not real full cover waterblock.

Yes I forgot, there is one MSI Founders 590 euro 2 years warranty.
More than Poseidon and need at least 90 euro investment for Heatkiller or 150 for EK waterblock.

    I want performance of RTX2080.
Performance of GTX1070 I could buy and for 300 euro.

I can't wait to compare performance of GTX1080Ti on almost 1750MHz boost out of box with RTX2080 FE and RTX2080Ti.
First one is behind, speed, memory, everything... only I want to see how much and how much is faster 1300 euro graphic card.

Re: Upgrading GPU from GTX780Ti to GTX1080Ti 2018/11/01 02:00:18 (permalink)
    After 4.5 years my dear GTX780Ti K|NGP|N I upgrade to GTX1080Ti.
No matter how GPU work when I try here I must say and I will repeat always for new products, PSU and GPU EVGA have priority.
40-50 euro higher price again EVGA have priority.

But now situation is so bad that I couldn't afford more than 600 euro, I payed 580 euro.
I call to ask is it possible to buy new EVGA any model GTX1080Ti and only SC was available but for 200 euro more + 150 euro GPU block.
I desperately search EVGA Founders Edition and I give you warranty I would paid same price as Poseidon even if I need to add block but didn't find.
Prices are such that I simply can't enjoy in smell of new hardware any more and it's humiliation every year weaker series to buy because prices.

Now plan is... period until New Year I finish watercooling install in case and M.2 1TB, that's money I have, after that I stay on zero.
1st January 2019 start official saving for next Intel platform, every month 100 euro on side. I'm not in position to save more.
    8 months=successor of i9-9820X, 12 months= High class Motherboard, 15 months=32GB DDR4 4000
Plus few hundreds from my platform X99.
If Intel launch 3rd version on X299, etc... than delay upgrade-nice, more money=better CPU, target 10 cores as higher possible clock.
If they say 2021 DDR5, OK I will wait. That's best upgrade when you have new chipset, new socket, new gen RAM.
Now you practicaly buy very similar kits only different specifications, 2666-3200 and more. Higher frequency or lower timings, every model have advantage and they ask price as something completely new on market.

Actually max price I was ready to pay was 800 euro.
That's all money I have, and that was prepared more than half year for brand new successor of Pascal. Shine new GPU ready for 4K.
Price of Turing not allow me to enjoy in him even if I save all money, price will destroy enjoying.
I would be too sad how much I paid GPU. I didn't want to save little more and use all effort only to buy damn 2080 and one overclocked GTX1080Ti to beat me for 15%. I didn't want to pay 950 euro.
950 EURO FOR SAME PERFORMANCE, PERFORMANCE GAMERS GET BEFORE 26 months. MAY 2016 ENTHUSIAST MET PASCAL AND NVIDIA SELL US HIS PERFORMANCE FOR 950 EURO NOVEMBER 2018, EVENING BEFORE 2019. FOR 6 MONTHS 3 YEARS AND WE ARE ON SAME PERFORMANCE LEVEL FOR 950 EURO OR 25% MORE FOR 1370 EURO. LOOKING STRIX MODELS.
