My last card was a GTX 570 and I loved the fact that EVGA respects their customers enough to allow them to change the heat sink compound or just generally take the cooler off for cleaning. There was no such warranty void sticker on the 570 I just noticed that my new EVGA 1060 6GB FTW+ comes with a warranty void sticker on the heat sink screw :-(
 
Can I get a confirmation that EVGA has gone over to the dark side and now will void your warranty if you remove the cooler for cleaning / thermal paste replacement? In my experience the cooler tends to need cleaning after a year the paste doesn't go bad but can perform better after that point too with new compound.

    It should be noted that removing this sticker does not void your warranty; it simply lets us know the cooler has been removed so we can take a closer look at the card to make sure there are no other issues. We still have no issues with customers removing the cooler for any reason.

    Ah ok hopefully that policy doesn't change in the near future. This was the entire reason I picked EVGA over MSI and ASUS. EVGA being the only manufacturer with a reasonable stance towards replacing TIM and removing coolers is a huge factor to swaying me on my 2nd EVGA purchase.

    It wont change. We encourage exotic cooling for our customers

    I love EVGA cause I can install a water block and keep a warranty.

    So it's okay to remove the EVGA sticker that is covering the video card screw?

    Aaaaaaand... I am done looking at your avatar. Ok, yes you can remove those stickers which is great as I have had 2 of them fall off on their own. Would have been pretty pissed off had that meant the warranty was void.
