Hey guys!

I was running 3x4 GB of DDR3 GSkill TridentX CL9 2400 Mhz @ 2500 Mhz 10-12-12-31 1T on my EVGA X58 E760 classified flawlessly so far.

I was able to get my hands on 3 others stick of the exact same memory but i can't get my system to work properly with the 6 sticks on :(

I've tested each memory module separately under memtest and they all show no errors.

When resetting to bios default all 24 GB are seen on Windows, so i guess this is linked to my overclocking settings.

Here are my working settings with 3x4 GB (stable under LinX stress test):

I've tried upping the VTT to +250mv, upping the IOH Vcore to 1.3, upping the ICH Vcore to 1.2, playing with the TRL, memory low gap, channel and rank interleave settings with no success.

Even when i go only for 3 to 4 sticks by populating the right memory banks as stated on the manual i have troubles booting at all with these settings :(

Any ideas ? :)

If 1.35 VTT isn't helping you'll most likely need to drop your ram speed some to get it to work.

Thanks Sajin. I've tried going from ddr3 2500 with 12 ram ratio to ddr3 2100 with 10 ram ratio with no success.

I think i'm onto something thought.

When i use a ram ratio below or equal to 8 everything seems to be working fine.

For example, i can boot 167 x 8 = 1338 mhz with no worries and all 24gb detected.

    But if i go 133 x 10 = 1333 mhz only 16 GB are detected.

    This is strange o_O

Found a post on overclock.net that says if you're running more than 12GB of ram @ 2000MHz or higher you'll need at least 1.5 on the vtt.

Thank you. I've tried upping the VTT and got no changes at all.

Anything else than an 8 RAM ratio wont work at all with higher memory frequencies.

Best i can get to work is 8 x 209 = 1672 mhz  That's a bit sad for DDR3 2400 but oh well... At least i'm happy i can run 24 GB if needed

I'll stick to 3x4 GB @ 2500 Mhz since i never use that much ram yet. If Star Citizen is released one day and still needs 16GB of ram i'll go down to 1600 mhz with the 24 GB

Have you tried setting the command rate to 2T instead of 1T?  You could also try kicking up the Dimm voltage a bit, say 1.67 to 1.69v.

Yes but badfully with no luck. I feel like the memory is not the problem, it's the motherboard. Anything above 8 ram ratio does not work. For example i can boot 240 x 8 = 1920 Mhz (unstable due to too high BCLK) but 190 x 10 will not

I've also tried all MCH Strap settings with no luck either.

But thanks anyway for your help

This is exactly Why RAM mfg warn people to buy tested factory sets of RAM and Not Mix two smaller sets of RAM

Yes it could be that specific MB & CPU just does not play nice with large amounts of RAM

Keep testing, you will find what works best for your Setup

If you are pushing the MB front side bus "any thing past stock"  I'd pull back to stock clocks & retest the RAM

Might even have to remove all OC on CPU/ MB and find what works best with RAM, then retest to establish a stable CPU OC

    Thanks Cool :)

Well if only i could have bought a 6x4 GB DDR3 2400 memory kit i would have... But to my knowledge it does not exist, so i bought the best i could: 3 kits of the exact same model of memory

I'm already mixing 1 kit with a stick of another kit to run at 3x4 GB triple channel @ 2500 Mhz CL10 and it's rock stable under linX. Maybe there is a compatibility problem with the other sticks... I have no way to know whatsoever.

I did try to remove all o/c as well, that's how i figured only 8 ram ratio works properly with the 6 sticks of ram. Since the best stable BLCK my motherboard can do under a low NB voltage is 209 (i don't want to push it higher even under watercooling since X58 runs hot, so i like it staying cool this way), best i can get is 1650 Mhz.

The manual of the E760 says that it only supports up to 6GB memory sticks, but i know a lot of people on different motherboards using X58 are using 8GB sticks with no problem. So i guess i'll try 3x8GB sticks one day and cross fingers

Anyway even at 1650 Mhz memory this shouldn't impact performance on games too much since games performance is more related to CPU and GPU frequency, and the only game right now that uses more than 12GB of memory i know is Star Citizen, which does not run at more than 30 fps anyway on the best setups since it's in beta. If it ever get released one day, i'll continue my tests then

    My X58 is a MSI Big Bang & 6 x 4MB = 24MB total works just fine ---> its Not the X58 chipset

One option is to contact the RAM mfg and ask if they could help - tests your RAM ?  offer an Upgrade to a tested set  ?

Is your RAM rated as Tri-Channel ?  (mine is)

    I use G.Skill F3-12800CL9T-12GBRL      CL9-9-9-24  1.5V    DDR3 1600 PC3-12800      4MBx3

Yes, I mixed two sets --> seem to have gotten away with it

Each set of three sticks has consecutive serial numbers  (set 1 ending 534, 535, 536)

My setup work as well at PC12800 with 24GB at 8 memory ratio.

Perhaps if you tried ddr3 pc19200 you'd have troubles too ^^

If g.skill even agree to do what you suggest i'm not even sure it would work, and i would be without a computer for the time it would take for my memory to travel the world back and forth :D

I'll stay with what i have right now, if it's not enough one day i'll try something else then... By the time i might have switch to 7nm ;)

Anyway i appreciate the help mate :)

    Have fun

Those are the stock clocks - for memory description - Not My clocks

But I do not have the screen shot to share so ........ cant remember what my settings were .....
