Krzysztof47, did you notice any better temps with the EF-X block over the stock supplied one?  I noticed in the specs that the stock block as 3mm fins, and the EF-X has 5mm fins?  Think that should help with heat dissipation.  

Obviously this thread is about the Bitspower Mono-Block setup...  I already have said blocks, and was questioning Krzysztof47 as to any performance gains seen over swaping the STOCK CPU WATERBLOCK to a EF-X block.  Appreciate your concern over me not knowing the difference between a air cooler and a waterblock though...

So here is where it gets a little odd. I originally used the Summit EF Brass top, which gave me really great temps on NT H1.  Then I switched to the Summit EF X with an acrylic top, I would say my temps actually increased under load by about 1c.  The EF X has no jet plate while the EF has one.  The brass top also helped knock a few c's off I am pretty sure.  I would personally just stick with the stock one, if you go EF X, I would get one of the Brass versions.  Hope this helps.

Has anyone had luck just running the cpu block in a loop without the other blocks and monoblock on top? For some strange reason when I put it in a loop I cannot get water to pump into the block with any significant force, it slows down to a trickle and I can't cool it properly. With the VRM, CPU and chipset blocks covered by the monoblock it's fine.

I found what it was - the pump was obsructed by a very small piece of plastic, no idea how it got in there. It didn't start obstructing flow of course until right when I tested it with the block, and then dislodged after I tried it with the whole thing assembled, just confusing matters. Once I drained that loop I found it.

Yeah it was strange....it was the clipped end of a plastic zip tie! I really don't know how it got in there though, must have fell into my tube reservoir or radiator at some point. Then again, I have one of those anti-vortex fittings in the base of my tube, so it couldn't have fit through there....heh. Who knows. It is pretty glorious to see water shoot through the loop the way it's supposed to though - rather than coming to odd conclusions that the cpu block just wasn't meant to work on it's own without the distribution block lol..

Yeah I could never figure that one out or my situation.  Luckily I use flow meters and that was what indicated to me that something was wrong after a couple of months while the temps ran fine.  My flow went from 1.0 GPM to 0.2 GPM before I had to tear it down and investigate what was going on and to my surprise, this is what showed up:

Not sure if I cleaned this block off or went with a new CPU block, I think the latter since I have 3 Swiftech CPU blocks around here, one of three currently being used.
