As the title states I am getting this error code Ring0""Open()!! when trying to open eleet. Before anyone asks I do not have any hardware monitoring software installed. No cpuz, HWinfo, speedfan, or precision. I'm using a Z370 Classified K with bios 1.08 paired with a 8700k and gskill trident z 3000mhz ram on win10 with most recent updates. I'm not sure if this issue is due to the recent windows updates or what. Eleet was working a couple weeks ago now when I try to open it even as administrator I get that error every time. I did uninstall eleet and tried reinstalling and yes I have the correct version 1.0.4 downloaded for my motherboard. I even tried version 1.0.3 because 1.0.4 is an offshoot of 1.0.3 as mentioned in an earlier post. Any help would be appreciated.

That previous thread doesn't offer any answers and those users were running other pieces of software that cause issues with eleetx. I made sure to remove every piece of software that was mentioned in that thread before posting mine to insure I wouldn't run into the same issues. Alas eleet is still giving the same error code. The only thing that makes sense is the windows updates changing something in the registry.

It sounds like some registry borkage/permissions/update issues that I've encountered with EVGA and other software (Precision, Asus AI Suite) and the fix is usually simple.

E-LEET should install WinRing0_1_2_0 in the in the following registry folder.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services

Press the Windows and R keys to open the Run dialog, then type in regedit to open the Registry Editor.

Is the WinRing0_1_2_0 folder there and when you click on it does the ImagePath point to your E-LEET WinRing0 file location such as \??\C:\Program Files (x86)\EVGA\ELeetX\WinRing0\WinRing0x64.sys ?

Does the ImagePath point to another program?..If the ImagePath points to another program, close then uninstall/temporarily disable that program and then delete the WinRing0_1_2_0 folder and restart your PC..Then install E-LEET again and restart your PC..See how that rolls.

You can also right-click on the WinRing0_1_2_0 registry folder to give/change Permissions..Same with the WinRing0.sys files in the Program Files (x86)\EVGA\ELeetX\WinRing0 folder..Permissions can be an issue also.

Be sure to right-click on the E-LEET installer and 'Run as administrator'.

Create a System Restore Point before monkeying around in the Registry so that the Registry can be restored should something go wrong.

Windows Updates KB4056892 and KB4056891 breaks AI Suite and some other software..You can uninstall those if they are there.

I might also be helpful to say what Win10 you're running..Home, Pro, Enterprise, whatever.

Hopefully something in all this will fix it.

Bob's solution fixed it for me. The imagepath was pointing towards a Precision XOC folder. Just edited it to go to the eleet folder and it restarted and Eleet opened fine.

Thanks this really helped! It was pointed at Precision XOC. So I uninstalled both and deleted the WinRing0_1_2_0 folder and reinstalled Eleetx and it worked.

    Unsupported Memory

^ I have also tossed crap @ EVGA for other problems. I have to admit that this is also a problem with an ASUS ROG Maximus X Code. Their Dec 2018 BIOS update broke support for my F4-3600C17Q-16GVK that I had been using. I had been running it OCed to DDR4-4000 @ 12-20-20-28. I had to replace it with DDR4-3200C14D-16GTZKW memory running OCed to DDR4-3866 @ 16-19-19-28. It wasn't until an update in May that I got 4000 back but @ 13-18-18-28 :(

This trick works great :) I cloned the SSD from my broken ASUS z370 and installed it in a EVGA z370 Classified K. I uninstalled all the ASUS software and installed the EVGA stuff but the Eleet-X Software didn't work. It was still pointing to a EVGA Precision-X install, I changed the path and now it works :)

Something you should always do is list your PC hardware and OS you're running.

Try the easy way, rather than regediting for 1/2 hour..This is if you're installing E-LEET in C:\Program Files (x86)\EVGA.
    • Create a Windows System Restore point to fall back on if necessary.
    • Install the correct version of E-LEET.
    • View the ReadMe and download my WinRing0_1_2_0.reg registry entry for the 'E-LEET Tuning Utility X' here from my OneDrive page..Right-click on it, then click 'Merge' to add it to the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services folder..Then restart your PC and see if it's more better.

    Good luck.

Hey bob, thank you very much for your reply and your detailed help. Sorry for the missing information. I have an Evga z87 motherboard with a 4790s processor.

I followed the steps you outlined and by merging the file you uploaded I saw the WinRing_1_2_0 in my registry. After reinstalling eleetx, merging the file you uploaded and restarting my PC I got the same error. I went and looked at the image path and there was a /??/ portion before the C: so I went and removed that so the image path would be exactly where I installed eleetx. Yet I get the same error.

Any more suggestions to potentially fix this issue?

    Thank you for your help!

    I dunno, man.

Leave it be the way it was with the /??/ part in there..There should also be a WinRing0 folder with .sys files in it in the C:\Program Files (x86)\EVGA\ELeetX folder too.

That's all I can tell you about it other than maybe try right-clicking on the E-LEET installer and then 'Run as administrator'..And close all other programs/apps running in the System Tray/Task Bar before installing.

Just an update so I am able to get it working when I run Iobit Game booster which shuts off all of my background progams and services.

That tells me that there is something running in the background that is interfearing with E-Leet X. I have gone through all of my active processses and I looked through the programs that Game Booster actually shuts down and i'm not sure what oculd be interfearing. Maybe a result of a windows update? not sure.

Regardless, I can still run it now so hopefully this can help someone who has tried everything above already.
