I downloaded Valley and Superposition last night.  Running Valley in 1080P Ultra gave me a 2419 score.  I don't know where that puts me but my 1080 was plainly idling along at a cool 43C.

When I ran Superposition in high though, I got scores of 7940 and 7931 which would have put me on the front page.  My GPU usage was in the low 90s which I assume indicates the throttling that my ancient FX processor is causing.  My FPS average was 59.39.  I figured that was because of Vsync. I ran it in "off" and "application controlled" with no difference.  My monitor is only 60hz so I thought that may be why it doesn't render faster, or maybe 59-60 is just where it falls by coincidence.

In any case, with my ancient FX processor, I was confused by my high score.  Any insights?

Edit... everything is completely stock on the FX and the 1080.  No OC.

7940 definitely won't put you on the first page... https://benchmark.unigine...high/single-gpu/page-1

Interesting. When I click from my results page, the high score on page 1 is in the 11s.  That makes more sense now.

You need the advanced edition to be able to sumbit your score.

Found the target frame rate in Precision and turned it off.  Valley went from 2419 to 3493 and Superposition went from 7940 to 11176 on 1080P high.

Figured it had to be limited someplace.  Didn't make sense that both of them would just happen to stop right at 60.  GPU utilization on Superposition was 100%, so does that mean that the FX wasn't throttling it?

That's surprising.  Everything I've read had my CPU choking the life out of a 1080.  Good to know.

    thanks,
    Ian

Ran the basic Time Spy, Graphics Score is 7471 and CPU score is 2931.  Got a good bit of st- st- st- stuttering.
