Hello. I have a gtx 1070 sc acx 3.0 Black Edition. I was looking to overclock it since in my games i get fps JUST under 144 like 130 and stuff. I want to overclock it so I can handle the games I want to play. Also I wanted to know if a overclocked 1070 will bottleneck my i5 8400. Thanks, and I just want to know how to overclock because I have never done it before.

No, your GPU isn't going to 'bottleneck' your CPU. Generally, it's the other way around. GPU performance is the limiting factor. In other words, with your processor, you'd could get substantially higher frame rates with a more powerful GPU. On the other hand, replacing the processor would result in a much smaller gain of a few percent.
Bottleneck: Loosely translated as whatever part of your system is impeding performance the most. In your case, for gaming performance, going to a 2080 Ti would be a massive increase over say, updating to even the latest and fastest processor. You'd gain a couple of FPS from the increased clock speed per core is about it. I hope that kinda gives you some insight.

I made a YouTube video about overclocking. It shouldn’t bottleneck that processor. Here’s the video :- https://youtu.be/opq3dvXfJMU

Thanks man that really helped and is a really easy guide, thanks. I thought I'd have to install msi afterburner and do all this complicated stuff but yours is way easier than all the others. Thanks and ill do it soon.
