Capcom Vancouver is being shut down. Capcom Vancouver was founded in 2005, with its primary focus being the Dead Rising franchise that added a more charismatic touch to the 3rd-person action-adventure zombie genre. Microsoft helped publish the recent entries to the franchise via Microsoft Studios, and now faces a potential loss to its own exclusive game lists in the console wars. PC gamers got to play all the major Dead Rising games on Steam as well, with mixed to positive receptions in general. Some of the former employees found jobs with EA. Still it's always sad to see a gaming studio shut down.

I really enjoyed (most of) the Dead Rising series. IMO, up until DR3, the series was great. Some people may have hated escorting survivors to safety, in some other games, I really don't enjoy escort missions, either, but I think it was really fun in the DR series. I liked having a long line of survivors and weaving through zombies. Anyhoo, aside from removing the escorting of survivors DR3 and DR4 just lost something that the earlier games had. DR3/4 were enjoyable to enough to finish, but they weren't as fun, IMO. The psycopath battles in DR4 were mostly meh, as well.
