I just picked up a Z370 Micro, and want to put something like a Pentium G5500 in it. It's just a placeholder until the 9900k/9700k gets released and i put that in its place. So i'm just looking to put a really cheap chip in for now to get the system running and working.

I see it not mentioned on the supported CPU list, but i get the impression that list just hasnt been updated with the release of newer coffee lake models.

Thanks :)

    is that a yes?

is a G5500 "Coffee Lake-S" ? or just "Coffee Lake"? does it matter?

my board just shipped today direct from EVGA, can i reasonably assume it will have the latest BIOS applied?

I'd call evga support for a more accurate answer. https://www.evga.com/about/contactus/

Yes, your board should have the latest bios applied to it since you ordered it from evga's store.
