Searching for information about active Speakers similar to Audioengine A5+ I found positive reviews and experience of people with
Kanto Speakers. Every model have 6-7 version of colors and company is from Canada.
Except Speakers made and Subwoofers Sub6 249$ and Su8 299$

YU4 and YU6 look interesting to me.
Subwoofer could be add to them... 
If you search for nice PC speakers you could research more.
If they are better then Audioengine A5+ than it's worth of buying, special because these have Bluetooth and Toslink.
