1070 SC
  • 1594MHz Base Clock
  • 1784MHz Boost Clock
Since those are dramatically different please provide the part number of your card so that we can be sure that we are getting the correct information for you.

Everything is security.

Yes, totally normal. GPU Boost 3.0 causes the card to overclock itself to higher speeds. You can’t turn it off, so your card will stay clocked higher.

You can downclock using precision xoc or by using the debug mode in nvidia control panel.

Yeah GPU Boost 3.0 is the cards programme for self overclocking. Nothing to worry about

Chowonpc. If you have overclocked it your self then your need to adjust the power percentage on the left of Precision x OC. Over why’s there’s not enough power getting to the card to sustain the overclock hence the crashing also the MHz on the memory and the gpu and also the power target and the temperature.

With a 1070 you can run:-

Power target at 120
Temp target at 91 (make this your priority)
Voltage at 100%
GPU Clock Offset +150 MHz
MEM clock Offset +300 MHz

If your unsure here’s my video on YouTube about pascal overclocking:- https://youtu.be/opq3dvXfJMU

"Silicon lottery" every card has a different potential. Your card is factory OC.

Your PC's many variables can make a difference & of course any OC settings along with system Temps

Make sure to test in small increments --using others setting will not always work

Setting Power and Temp to Max - will show you what your card can do Before you add any + settings

Do NOT set the OC software to Auto load on reboot while testing --- when it crashes is that really the setting you want Auto loaded ?

@chowonpc
Maybe you can Post your Computer Specs, Make & Model of the MB, CPU, Memory, Power Supply (and age), Monitor and Video Cable Type.
Are you using One PCIe Power Cable with Two 8-Pin Connectors or Two PCIe Power Cables on your Graphics Card?
What OS and OS Version and what Games are you seeing this issue in and last what NVIDIA Driver Version are you running?
This may help others help you with this issue.

This one? B450 GAMING PRO CARBON AC
If so what Bios are you Running? Current is 7B85v11 2018-08-15
Power Supply (and age)
Are you using One PCIe Power Cable with Two 8-Pin Connectors or Two PCIe Power Cables on your Graphics Card?
What OS and OS Version and what Games are you seeing this artifacting in and last what NVIDIA Driver Version are you running?
What are your CPU Temperatures and GPU Temperatures when artifacting?

The Ryzen 5 2600X isn't the fastest processor, even from AMD—that would be the Ryzen 7 2700X, or for multi-threaded workloads the Threadripper 1950X.
It's also not faster than the Core i7-8700K, and for games it can't even beat the slightly less expensive Core i5-8400.
But if you're not going all-in on a top-of-the-line graphics card, that gaming potential is more theoretical than practical—and when you're building on a budget, getting more features and performance for less money is great.
