Not sure why it gets all the hate it does.

It feels solid, the keys are the correct feeling for me....

Can someone who has it (or did) and doesn't like it tell me why they don't? Seems decent to me...and for 50 bucks (that's what I spent on it)
it's amazing.

Take some time and read the complaints on the forums about it. Some of the complaints i remember are the dimmer/volume slider acting up, if you move it too fast. Lots of issues with the firmware and keyboard software, they might of fixed most of the issues. If you like the product use it and enjoy it, after all was your money that bought it.

When a product goes from $150 to $50 in under 6 months on the market. That should tell you how people feel about the product. Look around the net, you don't see people talking about the Z10 keyboard, like they do keyboards from the top 3 mfg's (Corsair, Logitech, Razer). What do the top 3 keyboard mfgs have, RGB back lit keyboards. They also combined the keyboard, mice and headsets software into one software.

They also combined the keyboard, mice and headsets software into one software.

Logitech and Razer has been in the peripheral game for well over 10 years. It took Corsair several years to consolidate all their applications into one.
I personally prefer no frills mechanical keyboards. My main keyboard is a 65% with Gateron Reds and white LEDs. I know more hardcore mech keyboard guys prefer simple designs and features as well.

It came with 052 on it...worked right out of the box for me (without the software, I mean)....installed the software, updated to 072 I think?

Software and hardware seem fine to me...

One thing I did notice is the silver caps on the sliders for dimmer and volume aren't properly attached...but a little glue will fix that.

Same here on the Sliver Caps that was the only issue I had with the Z10 and a little glue took care of that.
Also Unleash v1.0.19 seem to not support Temps from a RYZEN 7 1800X CPU on the X370 XPOWER GAMING TITANIUM.
It did take AIDA64 a long time to show the Two different CPU Temps on the RYZEN 7 the CPU and CPU Diode and even the MB.
As long as I exit out of PXOC AIDA64 will show all the CPU and MB Temps.
With PXOC running in the Background the LCD on the KB Flashes.
PXOC only shows FramRate and FrameTime on the RYZEN 7, but then that is why I have and use AIDA64.
This is Not the case on the Intel Platform. Still Work in Progress with both.
One nice item I found was if I Plugged in a New Z10 to a computer that has Unleash 1.0.19 installed it you get prompted to update the Firmware

Corsair Cue software for years has allowed you to control RGB keyboards, MICE and RGB Headsets. They just recently came out with ICUE software that allows you to control all of your new Corsair RGB products (RGB Fans, RGB Hydro Coolers, RGB mouse pad, RGB headset stand, RGB KB, Mice and Headsets).
Nothing wrong with liking no frills mechanical keyboards. Some people are weird and like mechanical keyboards with no characters etched onto the caps.

RGB not your thing, but you would preferred to have white or red back lighting. If the keyboard was RGB, you could switch to any color or colors you want at any time, you don't have to use a rainbow effect. You can set it to any solid color you want, you don't have to use any pulsing/breathing effect to it.

Being able to switch the color, that would be taking full advantage of it. No rules that if you own a RGB keyboard, you must switch colors all the time or use a rainbow effect. Who's to say a month or two down the road you wouldn't like another color.  That is what i was getting at.

You asked about hate about Z10 keyboard. A lot of gamers who buy back lit keyboards, they prefer RGB back lit ones for obvious reasons.

We're going to have to agree to disagree.

    RGB is nothing to me.

I don't give a rats rear end about 'being able to change' color.

Simply offer a keyboard with white led's for backlighting.

    Problem solved.

I don't want to pay to have every color under the sun.  I find RGB to be something I don't want to support.

The Z10 does exactly what I want. Aside from white LED's...why is this hard to grasp?

    Color :
most of the time I use red back-lit keys on keyboards
Have wondered what base color people end up using the most ?

I have used different colors when switching between computers   ( 4 port USB switcher is still  too low a number so I have extra keyboards on the table ) I do mix and match between Windows and Mac OS and some system have 2 keyboards.

This is for programming work :  when using multiply account for games I use smaller bluetooth keyboards as some keyboards do not switch macros fast.

    ____________________
I gave up mostly on USB switching of mice and use different color mice from logitech as they  use their own radio frequency and I have a ton of bluetooth as it is.

And the EVGA Z10 with AIDA64 is here too :-)
