The Ti Cards are rumoured to be a 285-300 watt TDP card.  Hence why the heat sinks are so large.  They have a lot of heat to get rid of.  To put it into perspective, that's more heat output than a 32 core Threadripper, which has a TDP of 250 watts.  These are going to run very hot, and be extremely power hungry.  Quite possibly upwards of 500 watts when pushed hard.  Good thing winter is coming..maybe.

Well there goes AMD's marketshare of people that use GPU's to heat their homes during winter. RIP AMD.

Oh good Lord, your hatred of EVGA isn't being hidden very well if you were trying. The shroud and backplate are nice on the EVGA card. One of the better looking cards from this series I have yet to see. Also, if you even actually looked at the pictures you would see the card has a NVLink. Honestly, are you even looking at the pictures or just trashing EVGA without seeing the card?

To help put things into perspective, the GTX 1080 Ti has a 250W TDP and manufacturers managed to keep these cards cool. Yes we are getting a hotter running GPU this time around, but it seems the manufacturers have already addressed this. Lets just hope it's justified with the performance.

Im not liking that shroud.
It does seem like a step backwards, and now looks like any other mfgr's card.
 
the 9, and 10 series EVGA cards are some of the most pleasing, aesthetically speaking.
Why dont we just improve on those, instead of making it look like a gigabyte card.
 
Power wise, i should be fine as i just picked up a 1k watt psu.
A 1070ti still heats up my study pretty good, hope it doesnt run much hotter than that.
 
So will there be a 2070ti model, or just 2070, 2080, and 2080ti? Sorry, anything less is just not on my list.

Bingo!!  +1.  How it performs and how well it can/will be cooled is what's important to me.  As far as RGB, to each their own.  Personally, I have no need for it.

Wow ok, dude calm yourself. I am hard on EVGA designs since I am a huge fan otherwise I would not be active in the forums. Second, at that point yesterday we COULD NOT ASSUME that new finger is NVLink, it could have been a revision to SLI or something all together. I do not appreciate your rudeness towards me as I give out my opinion. You like the design cool I am glad..... so far I did not.... that is ok too.

I doubt people are buying this card for it's looks. If EVGA thinks this looks good though, their aesthetics are way off the mark. Looks like RGB plexi for the front face and pressed tin for the backplate. Rip that nasty junk off and watercool it. Forget the shrounds and backplates tho, more interested in how many 8-pins these things use. 2x 8-pin? 8-pin + 6-pin? Nvidia went YOLO when it comes to power efficiency this series.

I personally thought the 1080 dual fan cooler was sexy.  Not too sold on the new shroud but who knows maybe it will grow on me.
