Hey y'all, I have the Z270 Classified and a 7700k, I also have 2 stick of Corsair ram adding up to 16g.

I have been using the ram for about a year now and have had no issues with it, but as part of this years upgrades I am expanding my ram to 32g and will be getting a new video card when they come out. My ram is running on the XMP profile that runs it at it's spec'd overclock speed of 3200.

I just got another 16g kit, the same as the first one, my question is:

Can I just install it and leave everything as is?
OR
Should I set my BIOS to stock for the ram and try that first, then try the XMP profile??

thanks for any input!!

I'd suggest returning the second kit as it may not work correctly with your first kit even with them being the same kits. You need to actually buy a quad channel kit to insure proper compatibility.

     Yikes

They have 2 - 16g stick kits and 4 - 8 gig sticks of this same exact ram, but they both are like almost $200 more, and I have no idea if it will be any different.

I'll check over at Corsair and see if they can give me any insight.

Thanks for the heads up man!!

RAM Mfg all say that there is No Guarantee when you add to your existing RAM ... you could end-up having to increase clocks or use lower Mhz

If you have the RAM in hand --- test it for stability

Btw: I NEVER run XMP ---> I Always set RAM manually to MFG specs including Voltage -- this always gives the best stability

Didn't know that people had such a hard time with ram. Have always bought 2 stick kits and haven't had ram problems.

same hear, quad channel kits are crazy expensive and if you have a dual channel system totally unnecessary, if all the specs are the same then they should just work. i would manualy set the speeds, timings and voltages though since xmp can be cranky.
