A few months ago I built my first pc. It has a 500W bronze EVGA psu (100-B1-0500-K2) inside and works great for the most part. However, the psu cable is very loose and short. Moving my pc 2 cm would make my pc shut off immediately and have me wiggling the psu cable for about a minute untill I get it fitting perfectly again. This issue has been present from the start and seems to get worse over time. My question is: Is there a longer psu cable that fixes this issue and that I can buy somewhere to replace the short one?

AC power cables of various lengths and types can be found at most places that sell PC parts and accessories, even many supermarkets..They don't cost much..For your PSU, you'd want one that's marked 18 AWG or lower..The lower the AWG number, the thicker the wires..The AWG number is marked on the cable and the package.

I had an AC cable that was loose and I inserted a small screwdriver in the end and bent the contacts closer together..Just don't forget to unplug it from the wall if you do that

If it's the PSU cable from the wall you should be fine to get an after market one. Just make sure you get a good quality one and not like a cheap used one. While used might work when you are powering your computer it's worth the extra to buy new since the cost difference isn't going to be much.

Thank you guys both! I just ordered a C13 cable, which I was planning on doing already. I just wanted to be sure it would work fine.

Just the power cable. All other cords should be the same.
