Hello, i've got 2x GTX 660 in my PC and i have to say that when i hadn't these cards, my computer was totally noiseless when temperatures was low. Now i'm trying to reach this point with  cards installed but these fans are quite hearable which isn't as cool as noiseless PC.  Can I totally turn it off in low level of GPU temperature? Evga precision doesn't provide me that possibility.

Lol really dude the cards run hot they need fans to cool them off. If your wanting something that noiseless then get yourself a low end card that is fanless or build a water cooler or dont sli your 660.

Your graphics cards have fans for a reason, to keep the cool. Without the fans on, your GPU's can overheat and possibly completely destroy the card. Although you may prefer low noise, fans are a necessary part of a graphics card. You can also install a waterblock for your 660's if you want to go through all the trouble of making your system water cooled. Or you can just live with the fan noise. EVGA Precision X should allow you to be able to lower your fan speed to 30%. Just tick off the option "Auto." I have a GTX 660 SC myself, I can barely hear it. I

If noise is an issue, i would recommend removing the stock fan at your own risk and installing a quieter one.  I installed a corsair closed loop system on mine, take a look at my setup.  I can run my games at max and my fans are on low and more quite than the stock fan, and my temps are only around 40 compared to 60.  There are ways around your issue, but it would be senseless and idiotic to completely turn the fan off.

To answer your question directly, no matter which brand or model of fan you use, it is not possible to make it shut off if the fan is plugged into the video card's fan controller. The video card's fan controller has a hard set minimum PWM duty cycle and will never go down to 0%.

As long as the computer is on, the card will generate some heat. The GPU and CPU need a fan to keep the temperatures down.

Unfortunately, that is not an option for older cards, as not just the firmware needs to support it, but also the motor for the fans themselves.

However, for our GTX 970s with ACX 2.0, we do offer a vBIOS update that can do exactly that -- the fans stop until the card itself needs to be cooled, at which point they enter the fan curve and spin up as necessary.

In such a case I recommend this but it will void your AMD warranty: http://www.nzxt.com/produ...n-g10-gpu-bracket.html

Really you would want the fans spinning. It shouldn’t be that loud when you are not really putting much graphic workload on them though.

I would like to configurate the fans to 0% until 51 grades like I could make with the stock cooler, but now with the artic accelero xtreme IV, I can´t do that, from 0% to 17% is always spinning to 650 RPM. What I mean if am only using word and internet, I don´t need/ want any noise

Sorry. Too bad. The hardware does not allow it.

Hardware doesnt support it. If you upgrade to a newer gen gpu that does support this, then it is possible.

Also, dont be afraid to create a new thread. This thread was dormant for almost 4 years before you revived it :-)

If you have the money you could get yourself a 9xx or 10xx series GPU that has the 0db feature.  The fans only kick in when you hit ~60C.  You would most likely get better performance from any of the higher end cards from those series than your current 660's combined.

I would advise that you create a new thread in the correct section of the forum. Everyone here thought you had a 600 series video card.
