Hi there,

I have a EVGA GTX780ti SC and last night I was playing Prepar3D and during the flight, suddenly I lost signal on both monitors.

I heard the fans at maximum before this, but I tought it was normal (hot temperatures in the room ~27oC). When this happenned, the fans kept at max, no display and I still heard sound.

Now I'm connected via onboard display and pc is working normally except for the graphics card that continues at max and isn't detected by the pc on both PCI-e Express slots.

I have already checked the PSU but seems okay and I tried to switch PCI-e cables positions on the psu and switch between slots PCI-e express. Nothing worked

My rig:

PSU:Corsair AX850
MB: Asus P8z77 pro
CPU: Intel i7 3770k
Memory: 12GB DDR3
GPU:EVGA GTX780ti SC

Best Regards,
Pedro

Welcome to the forums.

Sounds like the card up and died..You might try it in another PC or take it to a PC repair shop for testing to be sure.

It's probably out of warranty and can't be RMA'd if it's bad..If it is, you can disassemble the thing and bake only the PCB like this which should reflow any solder cracking on the PCB, and hope for the best..Solder cracking can cause all kinds of different problems..Sounds like an actual component failure though and is a paperweight now.

If you bake it, do it with the GPU side up..200C for 10 minutes.

So one of the symtomps of dead card is fan at max and no display?

It is normal that the card can't be detected by anything, I tought the card would give a "signal" when was going to die.

EVGA doesn't repair cards like this?

The most common symptoms are artifacting, freezing and BSOD, but anything can happen.

EVGA doesn't have a repair service for cards that are out of warranty.
