Currently thinking about purchasing the Evga x299 Dark. I run a LSI 9361-8i Raid card in my present setup, wondering if anyone has tried, has success running this raid card or one similar with the x299 Dark. TIA.

It is a PCIe 3.0 card. Just depends on what the driver package from LSI supports

Agreed, it “should” work, just wondering if anyone can confirm.

I know that the Adaptec 6805 would not work in my X79 Dark, no matter the compatibility settings. Dunno if your card is older, if it is - good luck!

The newer 7805 and 8805 works fine in both my X79 Dark and my X99 Classified.

A lot newer actually, that’s Adaptec, this is LSI (Broadcom) , has EFI bios, 12g/s interface on sas drives (I run 4 stripped). Should work, don’t boot off them so don’t need the rom in the bios. Maybe I’ll send support an email.

Hi agrezar and welcome to the EVGA forums. I was going to reply earlier but held off because no one on our end can confirm if this LSI card will work with any of our current boards. You would just have to make sure you install it in a full size slot operating at 8X set to gen 3.0. and possibly the latest BIOS version for the motherboard.

Not yet, I was expecting extra funds for the purchase. That won’t happen till end of next month.

New case, hybrid cooler for a gtx 1080 ti, af140 replacement fans etc... I will give feedback when done.

Evga Dark + LSI 9361-8i Works out of the box. Just finished putting it all together. New box, Thermelake View 71, converted my gtx 1080 ti to hybrid (runs at 25° Idle), the Evga Dark, I7 8core. Replaced all fans with Corsair's SP140 and SP120.

Sharing your BIOS configuration would also be very helpful for any future questions on this or similar products.

Sorry cant get a good shot right now of the "good" side, here's a snap of the SAS drives. Bios settings, stock, can run either UEFI or Legacy.

I'm waiting on some Fan header splitters, 1in -> 3out, and some Grizzly paste, when that comes i'll take a few shots of the build. :)
