Hi all, I currently have a SuperNova PS 1000 with a set of custom cables from cablemods. I am in the market for a replacement PSU and was looking at the SuperNova P2 1000. Would the cables be interchangeable with the P2? I am hoping so as these cables were more than the PSU itself...  . Thanks for any info!

Unfortunately the cables from different lines are not interchangeable as they will have different pin-outs. Due to this cables from PS line will not work with a P2 power supply.

Ask Cablemods what they would charge to "Re-pin" the custom set you bought - just need to move some wires in the plastic holder on the PSU side  Or if they could provide the pin-out / what needs to move if you up for that on your own

No, I am building a new system for a family member and since I am paying for it myself I thought I'd slip the new PSU in my rig. Not a big deal however, I have been suffering from random restarts that began today when GFX cards are under load..... Been very frustrating troubleshooting the issue.

Well, turns out the 1000PS is unstable when running 2 cards in SLI... gonna have to be replaced. Hope they have some available for RMA....

Long shot maybe....
Confirm your Cable connections, try other PCIe cables, reseat pushing on the wires & not just the plastic retainer

Yeah, I did all that basic trouble shooting stuff already. Been using a 750 P2 as I wait for a replacement without issues... Thanks for tips though!

Well, I RMA'd the 1000 PS and in return, they sent me a 1000 P2 which renders my custom cables unusable now not to mention messing with my wire management since the P2 is 30mm longer than the PS. Oh well, we are enthusiasts, we like to mess with ours rigs don't we??!!?? I'll just have to have cableMods re-pin the relevant cables and spend an afternoon rerouting wires!
