So I got my replacement 1080Ti iCX card the other day ( old one took a poop ). Playing some Fortnite and I keep getting these errors and I'm not sure whats going on.
I had read that I don't have enough mem as I'm using too much, I also read that it happens when building in the game and the card can not keep up???. I have 11g on this card and only using 4100MB ( VIA GPUZ ) when gaming and having my second screen up and watching a video.
So I'm just lost, this is the 2nd time this has done it to me.

Thanks guys

Try removing drivers with Display Driver uninstaller:

http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

Then reinstall the latest drivers: https://www.geforce.com/drivers

See if this changes things.  Perhaps there are some leftovers from the past on your system causing the issue...

With errors like these I'd think of drivers or simply the game itself being broken. (or a combination)
I've seen older games sometimes unable to create 3D data or textures on much newer hardware due to compatibility issues.
When these errors pop-up the games generally crash and stop working.
Same as when you run out of memory and a driver TDR occurs to reset everything due to high delays communicating with the GPU.

But since Precision XOC also displays an error then I suppose there is a problem with the hardware.
Somehow Precision XOC may have lost track of the GPU for whatever reason and is unable to handle this properly.
And if the GPU somehow temporarily 'disconnected' itself it may be logical that the programs complain about out of memory.

I'd check if it happens on different drivers and different games too.
If it's only on Fortnite my bets are it is a software related issue, maybe also check without Precision XOC.

Yeah both times it did crash, had to restart the comp as XOC would not reload. Going to test as you said and see. Trying what Bobmitch said and checking that first
