Anyone know why EVGA has stayed out of the AMD motherboard market?  It's plainly a conscious decision on their part, I was just wondering why.  "X470 Classified" or "X470 Dark" has a nice ring to it.  Please no "because AMD sucks" replies... LOL

Edit:  I'm going to answer my own question.  After looking at the boards that EVGA offers, I think it would be the rare enthusiast that would build an AMD Ryzen system and spend that kind of coin on a motherboard.  Personally, I use AMD because of the price point.  Their top of the line desktop processor (not counting TR) is $330. I wouldn't spend another 3 to 500 on a motherboard.  The most expensive mobo that I've seen for AM4 is $299 with the Crosshair VII Hero. The majority of the high end X470 mobos are in the $200-$240 range.

I see I'm not the only one to have pondered that question.  They're just an Intel/Nvidia company and that's the corner of the market they've chosen to be in.  Fair enough.

EVGA has been a dedicated Intel and NVIDIA partner for a very long time. I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Depends on what you're 'aiming' at....I find the 8700K to be quite a good deal....Tho I also like the Ryzens and Ryzen 2's....*shrug* Intel's prices (except on the high end i9's..etc) doesn't seem that bad to me.

Lol.... all in good fun.   I looked at that 8700K.  I'm admittedly not at all familiar with Intel's line. Looked up a 8700K vs 2700X comparison and it's the usual story. Intel beats it everywhere except multithreaded applications, so for $50 more, it's not a bad deal.

Yeah I do want that...Can get an ok Vega 56 for under or right at $500 Now...I do think that is worth that and is and they've shown they can make an ok Card...Now whether or not they can ever get their Drivers to work worth a damn half the time or extensive crashing or not is a different matter and some cards Heat issues...
