I cant seem to get my GPU fan to stop spinning at low temperatures. The power fan stops but the gpu one keeps spinning at 560 rpm even though it should be at 0 rpm like the other one.
I am running the master bios on it. I have set a fan curve in PXOC that starts the fans at 60C, but it doesn't follow it.
Any ideas on why it does this?

Hello,

If you are running the Master vBIOS, the fan should stop spinning. Would you be able to provide us with a screenshot of PXOC, and your fan curve settings?

Are you uploading it to a 3rd party site? If so put a space in the link and we can fix it and see the pic.

Hello,

Try un-checking "Enable Automatic Fan Curve". The yellow dotted line would be the lowest speed possible for the fans. Regardless of if you have the fans set below this line, the fans will not stop spinning. Please let us know if this fixes your issue.

He needs to shut off the pc and remove the power cord from the pc and hold the power on button for 15 seconds to drain the system of power.. then flip the bios switch on the card and then power up to actually swap the bios.

I doubt it, unless the MCU's need updated..A simple restart is all that's normally necessary after flipping the VBIOS.

In order to restart I guess your flipping the switch while the system is running then?

Doesn't matter if you flip it whether the system is running or not..A cold start/restart is needed for the VBIOS change to become effective.

Hello,

If I am not mistaken, I think the OP was using the master vBIOS already. If you want to switch the vBIOS, you just simply need to switch it when the system is off (or running, it won't effect anything and nothing will change, but I feel physical pain changing the vBIOS with the system on. It just feels... wrong to me.) and restart / turn on the system. Power does not need to be drained from any capacitors.

I changed it from the slave bios to master bios. Did the power off and restart mutiple times so it should have switched over. But i see now that both fans are off when the software is not running.
It seems like the software is messing with the fans.

Ahh.. ok sounds like I should of mentioned what I was thinking before but wasn't sure it may of been the reason.

Now that you've swapped the bios. You need to uninstall pxoc. Then remove the retaining folder it was installed in under c:/program files.

Then reboot. Reinstall pxoc. It's still using the old settings and dont recognize the change in the bios.

Okay so i closed PXOC and the fans stopped all together and the temp went up to 94C when i noticed it. I opened the program again and the fans went to max. But after that i un-checked the "Enable Automatic Fan Curve" and it seems to turn them off as it should when the temps are low enough.
