Which Anti-Virus should I use?

Hi all,
For the past 2 years I've been relying on Windows Defender Security Centre (Windows 10) to protect myself and my computer - I don't actually have anything else installed. I'm a relatively casual internet user, I very rarely download anything from questionable sources and I know not to open suspicious emails. I use Opera as my default browser which comes with a built in VPN and adblocker. 
Should I get an anti-virus, and if so, which one?

    I think they're all garbage..I'd been using AVG for a long time, but will be switching to Norton Security with my new build..

    I use Norton Security and I trust it. BitDefender is also good. Eset makes decent antivirus solutions too. Windows Defender functionality is always improving in each major build of Windows, though I still don't trust it as much as the others mentioned prior.
     
    I'm not a fan of Kaspersky, McAfee, Avira and Avast though. And, although some Internet Service Providers (ISP) give you free solutions included in your service, I suggest not to, unless they come with something above in the first paragraph.
     
    Edit: It's also worthwhile to pair your antivirus solution up with Malwarebytes.

    I use Norton myself and really don’t notice any of the old problems with it slowing down my computer. It’s been years since they did have it try to scan while it was in use. Now it just slightly slows down while downloading to make sure it’s not got a virus on that file.

    Wow I forgot about Malwarebytes adware cleaner. It's been a while since I've used it. 
    Downloaded and ready to kick adware and spyware to the curb.
     
    Edit: In addition to yes I use Norton Security Deluxe. I have been using Symantec's software going on sixteen years straight. 
     
    Edit2: Okay I just realized that AdwCleaner is something new to the Malwarebytes family.
     
    So the question is should I use Malwarebytes Free (the one I was thinking of above) or AdwCleaner or both? What's the difference between the two?

    Malwarebytes (MWB) paid runs in resident memory. MWB free relies on the user to run it manually and do scans. As a tech, you can get away with either but if you find yourself getting into trouble often, I suggest the paid version. I always run about three or four extra cleaners when cleaning up customer's machines (the discontinued but still available MWB Junkware Removal Tool, MWB AdwCleaner, MWB, and HitmanPro). All of these programs overlap and are able to find what the other one doesn't catch. HitmanPro has a 30-day trial and gives you the option to use it once.
