Hi,

I have some questions regarding a SLI setup for my GTX 980 SC ACX 2.0

Will it be compatible with a EVGA GTX 980 ACX 2.0 classified edition (see attached picture) in an SLI configuration?
and secondly would my Corsiar 650 W 80+ Gold PSU be enough to power them both under load?

Thanks in advance
Greets

We normally do not recommend setting up SLI with a Classified and a different card, however it will work. You would need to use a flexi bridge due to the height difference in the cards.

Thx for the quick answer, what might be some of the issues?
As far as i can see the base and boost clock speed are only slightly different with 1291 MHz (1393 MHz boosted) on the classified version compared to the 1266 MHz (1367 MHz boosted) of my own card.
I might be misunderstanding something, since im still pretty new to the whole building my own Gaming Rig.

And what aboout my Power Suply? Will that be enough or should i upgrade to a stronger PSU?

In very rare cases it might not SLI or sink with a non classified version and or might have some odd stability issues. The clocks are similar and would recommend on running the Classified card as your main GPU. For this set up I would recommend at least a 750 watt PSU.

Two 6-pin PCIe power connectors are needed for the 980 SC and two 8-pin for the Classified..The RM650X has four 6+2-pin PCIe power connectors, so it has enough of those..But I doubt the RM650X would be powerful enough.

You can use the EVGA Power Meter (good) or the OuterVision PSU Calculator (best) to estimate your system wattage needs and see some recommended PSUs.

If you get another PSU, make sure it has all the proper connectors you need for your all system components.
