Precision X - 'start with windows' does not work

I found various complaints about having this issue.
 
I have the latest EVGA Precision X software, with a brand new machine which is otherwise functioning properly.
 
When I restart my PC - either cold boot or otherwise - the app starts, but then closes for some reason shortly after - I can even open the app from the system tray and see it for about 1-2 seconds before this happens.
 
I can always manually start Precision X without any issues.
 
As a result I've just been using Afterburner but I prefer Precision X.
 
Are there any common solutions to this?

    Welcome to the forums.
     
    What you described is usually caused by a bug in Precision whereas Precision starts and then unexpectedly closes and disappears from the System Tray if a 2D and/or 3D Profile is assigned.
     

    Open the Settings (gear button, bottom-right)..In the Profile tab, set 2D Profile and 3D Profile to 'Not Assigned' (the default setting) if they are not..Then click OK..Then close the Settings..Then close and open Precision.

    It's neccessary to close Precision after making most changes in the Settings or HWM, otherwise the changes won't get written to the .cfg files and saved..Best practice is to close Precision after making any changes and then open it again to make sure your changes remain.
