Igor Wallosek from Tom’s Hardware Germany claims that first board partners have been briefed about the new gaming series from NVIDIA. The bill of materials (BoM) has also been shown, which basically starts the whole process of GeForce 20 (or 11 as some claim) series development.

Igor Wallosek:
[…] we have unofficially learned from some board partners that Nvidia has already started training the relevant employees from the development departments. And since Nvidia does not prioritize any sales training courses for sales, the time calculation based on the tables listed below is likely to take on much more concise forms.

Yeah that sounds about right, imo. Best case scenario Sept drop, worst case Sept full spec release and ramp up for a oct drop. Everyone is chomping at the bit to get a new drop by now and if they decide to pass up the lucrative Oct - Dec holiday season then we def wont see anything till april of next year, which just doesn't seem right at this stage... to me. If you go back and look at all of Nvidias past drops from 10- 15 years ago you can see that they get pretty predictable unless something goes wrong and they do a skip like with the 1xx series and 3xx series where they went cut down OEM only.

August sounds about right as that would be enough time for enough of the video cards to be made and enough quantities of GDDR6 to be available.

That is one problem, every time you edit a post with a link that is shorted by the forums (but still works as the long version) it becomes the shortened version, which doesn't
corrected version (least til I edit this post, heh): https://videocardz.com/ne...ngs-for-board-partners

I personally hope this fall but am ok if it’s not. I look at what I need to play a game not what is the fastest in a few months. Those first few who buy a 1180 or 2080 will see a Ti or Kingpin version that will be faster. The truth is though even in the next generation the 1080Ti is going to be a great card that will run anything we saw coming up at E3.

NVIDIA’s Next-Gen GeForce Rumored To Feature New GPU Clock Algorithm, HDMI 2.1
Product Breifing Allegedely Given To NVIDIA Board Partners

NVIDIA Next-Gen GeForce Graphics Cards Will Support Several New Gaming Features and GPU Tech

Currently, there has been so much talk regarding the branding and release of these cards that the more important details have been slipping underneath all the speculation. Details we are referring to include actual GPU technology and features that we are going to see in the new cards and just to name a few, we are possibly looking at the following feature set in the new cards:

    • NVIDIA RTX Technology Support (Hardware-Level)
    • HDMI 2.1 Display Technology Support
    • New GPU Frequency/Clock Algorithm
We already covered what it takes to release a new graphics card in the market. The current rumors stand at an August launch date which is close to what we have heard. We actually heard September (early) from our sources but others point to a late August announcement so maybe the truth is somewhere in the middle. Board partners are also said to have briefed about the new cards but that must have been a very secret briefing as most of the marketing guys we talked to are unaware of any such briefings.

Last week wccftech posted saying July launch with insider confirmation. This week they say august launch with insider confirmation. So feel free to try to figure out what garbage they are spewing is most correct. I am surprised anyone even references them at this point.

the point of the second source was to show that the original source came from somewhere else than wccftech
and a site with better reputation

toms hardware and videocardz are better sites

they change dates because the other sites show a later date

Sounds about right. At that time enough GDDR6 quantities should be available to facilitate launch of the video card. The only thing I'm worried about is pricing.

Good life time of Pascal if they launch in Q3 2018.
That give me opportunity maybe to pay successor of GTX1080Ti, not GTX1080.

Depend of price, there is some price point I don't want to cross no matter what they offer.
I hope only both models will be enough for 4K gaming.

Obviously I'd prefer to pay less for an 1180 than what is stated in the video (if accurate), but I don't think it's to out of line.  Looking back at what I paid for a couple GPU's I bought in the past, I see that I paid $719.00 for a 780Ti when launched, and $697.00 for my current 1080 FTW.

$730 for an AIB 1180 price, not as bad as I thought it would be. I was figuring $750 - $800 for a 1180 from nVidia and $30 more for an AIB 1180.

    Here?:

    Viper453
    GTX 1180 16gb 2x + P27x = 5k :(

The quote above is the only thing even close to reference anything, and it doesnt even state an actual price anywhere. I would just ignore that if it is what you are using for a price. There isnt a p27x, so pricing would be skewed when referencing items that arent a thing yet.

P.S. when i read p27x, i think of p90x , but only 48% of the time required to get fit versus the full p90x workout time. My guess is that viper meant predator x27, not p27x. Not to mention, you cant use the gpu without the rest of a system, so the “5k” should include other parts, if that was a price the user was referencing. Again, i woildnt put a drop of weight behind that post for pricing.

Not sure why someone would want a 16GB version, unless the 1180 has 40% or better performance then the 1080 Ti.

Not sure why someone would want a 16GB version, unless the 1180 has 40% or better performance then the 1080 Ti.

Really it depends on what it can do. 16GB might be needed for reasons we don’t really understand until it’s announced. If it was the $1500 price it better need the 16GB of memory as it should offer SLI level performance.

Exclusive: NVIDIA Next-Generation Graphics Cards Will Be Seeded To AIBs In Early September

I have received confirmation that NVIDIA GeForce Add-in-Board partners will be getting shipments of NVIDIA’s next-generation graphics cards based on the Turing architecture sometime in Early August (nomenclature is not confirmed at this point, but GeForce GTX 1180 seems like a good bet). This follows a couple of third-party sources that have already indicated a launch in late Q3 2018 but marks the first time we have received independent verification of any progress in NV’s roadmap.

NVIDIA seeding AIBs with next generation (Turing) graphics cards in late August / early September

What this essentially means is that NVIDIA will almost certainly be launching their GPUs a few weeks after this time frame. Once channel seeding has begun, it is impossible to prevent leaks from happening and considering how much Jensen likes his surprises and the historical precedent the company has set of the utmost secrecy, I have a feeling we will see the company launch around this time frame.
