I own a Z370 FTW and recently noticed that a different chipset driver has been posted. However, when I attempted to install it, I was asked to verify that if I wanted to downgrade.

I went back to check, and the previous chipset driver since release was version 10.1.1.45, however, the version currently posted is version 10.1.1.44 which predates the previous chipset driver.

Is this intentional, or is it a mistake?

i have noticed the same thing. i went ahead and possibly downgraded .. but i know sometimes driver versions get mixed up and there is no other chipset driver posted..  not even a old one , uncheck show latest driver and i only see one chipset driver there dating  6-14-2018 .. so i am assuming what i had was what windows or Intel driver and support assistant installed possibly similar driver for another motherboard with a slightly higher version number .. but after installing the newly posted ( possibly downgraded one ) i notice a tad increase in responsiveness and performance since the last few windows updates. im using the Z370 FTW and 8700k with windows 10 pro . personally i would take what the EVGA makes for the mobo over a 3rd party one.. so far no issues :)

Neither. EVGA just has an older version listed on their website. The latest chipset driver can be downloaded here.

The older driver (which is the same as what's on the disc included with the Z370) contained an "Intel Confidential" message, which appeared to bother some people.  We removed that driver and posted the latest relevant driver for the chipset.  You should not notice any difference in functionality.

    Thanks for clarifying.

Are there any other drivers then the former 10.1.1.45 and the current 10.1.1.44 available?

I will probably remain with the 10.1.1.45 driver since I don't believe there is any reason to downgrade, but am wondering if there is an actual upgrade available.
