How many times is Atari supposedly coming back? Let it die already.
Why? Isnt diversity in a gamers best interest?
Atari was really the first to attempt at a mass market console, outside of pong, which was basically only sold by Sears.
Once Atari got its foot in the door to this new market, then sears stopped making a battery operated pong game system, and started selling re-badged Ataris as there own.
The once proud and might have fallen a few times, which makes them an underdog at there own.. um.. game!
I for one enjoy, most atari games, as the point of the game is to just get the highest score in most games.
There is no end to the game, therefore beating the high score is where the king is crowned.
Binge gaming/all night gaming with friends started with Atari, not pc, not arcade, as they closed at a semi normal time.
I would rather play a couple hours trying to get a high score on Yar's Revenge, or Zaxxon 3d(yes there were 3d games back then).
Then play most of the mindless, 2 hours finished games with no extended play-ability thats out there now.
River Raid and Pitfall are classics, i think everyone should play at least once.
So why let Atari Die?
I mean, most of us like a good zombie movie, and they keep coming back from the dead.. yet we still like them!
So Atari Zombie... Bring out yer Dead !
