I just wanted to said I've been using EVGA for YEARS. Bought a bunch of expensive graphics cards including titans and high end MOBO's and bunch of other things for many years. I never had to use a RMA from EVGA but I heard many great things about their RMA system and why I kept using them for many years. I saw an ad for an laptop of theirs the EVGA SC15 and it was a totally good deal for it. I took the chance and just jump right at it and purchased the laptop. I felt safe from a company that I've been with for many years and knew I had good protection from them. So I purchase this laptop about two weeks ago and it was the worst mistake ever. It has so many problems with it. Few example's are, I have 3 dead pixels but found out that the company only replaces the screen if you have 4 or more dead pixels. Also the laptop gets EXTREMELY hot without doing anything special aka gaming. It gets so hot where I need to plug an external keyboard just to use the laptop in general because it gets too hot to touch otherwise. Another problem is one of the fans does an annoying high pitch sound where it gives you an headache after 10 mins. There also other problems with it as well.

I made support tickets and took forever for a responds from them and try calling them over there and EVGA reps sound like they hate their jobs and NO help at all. All I get was promises but nothing came through. I thought about just sending it in and see if they could repair something but decided to just ask for a refund because all of the hassles. THEN I found out I need to pay 15 percent stocking fees and on top of that I need to pay for shipping to return the item to them because they can't (EVGA is CHEAP) can't/won't send me a pre paid shipping label. I even ask the REP to see if they can at least reduce the stocking fees but the rep didn't want to do crap at all NO HELP. It' sad because other company's like Dell or HP allow to take the laptop back and just send your money back FULL. Especially since this wasn't a buyer remorse but laptop was in bad condition.

I'm just SO in shock of how terrible this company became and this is the last time I will be purchasing anything from them. I know that might not have weight at all since their a billion dollar company but at least hopefully someone reads this and they know what is going on. If you have receive a perfect laptop with no problems at all then you're in for a treat. The laptop is beautiful not going to lie but if you have problems with it well good luck.

Thank you so much for reading this and have a wonderful day.

    Dell charges restocking fees:

"Unless the product is defective or the return is a direct result of a Dell error, Dell may charge a restocking fee of up to 15% of the purchase price paid, plus any applicable sales tax."
    http://www.dell.com/learn/us/en/uscorp1/terms-conditions/art-us-return-policy

HP on the other hand does have a 21-day no questions asked return policy.  However, they have nothing worth buying that compares to the quality and build of the SC 15.

    Hello Squad22345,

Sorry about the inconveniences that you are experiencing with your SC15 laptop. The tech that spoke over the phone with you offered you a RMA and offered to have UPS pick up the laptop for you for the RMA. However, since you started a Refund RMA we cannot assist you with a pick up request and a 15% restocking would be applied per our Store Policy which can be found here https://www.evga.com/storeterms.asp

We will be more than happy to help you out with a Standard RMA and to have UPS pick up your package so that we may help you get these issues sorted out. Just let us know how you would like to proceed and we will help you out, that's what our Customer Service team is here to do :)

I am in the same boat. Talked to EVGA Support and they won't give up on the 15% restocking fee. My SC15 overheats gaming and I have 3 dead pixels as well. This is the LAST evga product I am buying...... was a loyal customer since 2006.

I have zero dead pixels and with a -0.100 undervolt my temps stay fine.  Sorry it didn't work out for you.

This is an enthusiast platform from a small company making their own designs. Some issues are bound to happen. However, if you take the time to tune the hardware, like the enthusiasts these machines are aimed at would, then you will see exactly how solid these machines can be under the rough edges.

These laptops are running 6820hk or 7820hk chips (notoriously hot parts) in a factory overclock (stock intel base freq 2.7ghz, evga base freq of 3.2ghz in 'normal' mode) and full desktop grade nVidia GPUs. Make use of PXM or XTU and the bios options. Set a fan curve that works for you. Shave some voltage from the CPU and watch the temps fall (these chips can run on WAY less voltage at the same speeds stable). Stock DDR4 2400? Never. Crank it up and tighten those timings. Do some research and see what works for you.

RMA the machine if you have a legitimate issue or a damaged part, but dont turn others away from these computers because you simply don't feel like putting in a little effort to tune an enthusiast machine to your liking.
