V 6.2.7
Ive so far saved a set of profiles 8 times. I set several profiles,1,2,3,4,5... then close app, as has been suggested to do, and all works. However if i power down my system, or worse, the driver crashes and recovers, (this the worse possible outcome as i noticed a bad smell coming from computer, and low and behold it turned off fans for all my cards and my 1070 ftw2 was showing 93C, so now i may have 3 damaged EVGA 1070's because of using this EVGA software) all profiles are gone again. is there anyway i can set a profile for my gpu's then remove this "beyond" broken app. Or should i use another gpu control software, like MSI afterburner. Ive not OC my cards, in fact i underclock, (power 70-75%) and only ever used recommended software.

First of all, it doesn't sound like your three 1070's are burned out.  You say that you are still using them.  They must not be burnt out.

Second, quit using Precision!  If you know it doesn't work, why do you keep using it?!  Uninstall Precision.  Reboot.  Enjoy.  The card works by default right out of the box with no software required.  If you choose to continue to use something which you know is not functioning correctly, you have few to blame but yourself.

Recently there were issues with automatic fan profiles not staying activated when the program was restarted.
These have been solved, although, I've seen different odd behaviour now that only happens sometimes.

I turn off my system every evening, and sometimes the next day on start-up the automatic fan profile buttons are all disabled again, though at other times they stay enabled. (iCX card and counts for all fan curves)
Either way, it's safe to say Precision XOC still has a lot of kinks to get out of the way before you can blindly trust it again in the background without batting an eye.

Edit: I just rebooted and both memory/power fans suddenly were deactivated.
I hope EVGA is working hard to fix atleast the bugs with the initial loading of settings when the program starts, this has become a huge drawback after version 6.2.3.

I bought an EVGA SC2 1080Ti, an EVGA power supply, and plenty of other EVGA products, and XOC is such trash that it's the single reason I will never buy another EVGA product again and I would never recommend anyone else to do so based on how the software has performed.

Fix it or release source code and let someone fix it..or at the very least allow MSI Afterburner or  some other software to control the fans.

It's pathetic, and from what I've seen, it's not likely to change.

Allow MSI Afterburner...? They are allowed. Unwinder is very capable and could have it working in short order. But Unwinder has specifically said that he has no interest in adding special asynchronous fan control to Afterburner and will refuse to do so even if MSI comes out with an asynchronous fan card.

No one is making you use Precision. No one is making you adjust your fan speed. Why not remove Precision and install Afterburner instead? Afterburner can at least control 1 fan; which is more than is necessary.

Have you tried XOC version 6.2.3?  It's more stable and less "quirky" than 6.2.7.

unfortunately , I would recommend using Afterburner instead of PXoc  if you have a  card that only has 2 fans

Any “reference pcb” will work, but any non reference pcb with the ICX technology will not work.

I realize that no one is "making me" want to adjust my fan curves or use software to do so, but the point is that the software is the ONLY way to control multiple fans, and no, just letting one fan work is not "good enough." If it were "good enough," then the card would have been designed as a single-fan card. It wasn't.

The XOC software sucks, plain and simple, and there's no viable option available to replace the functionality. Period.

They all "work" with Afterburner, just not all features will be available. With Afterburner, you can overclock/underclock the card, set voltage and power limits, and control one of the iCX fans.

People want to adjust all two/three fans, and not just one.

Well, they can't with Afterburner. Now we are just repeating ourselves, aren't we?

The consumer has the choice. The card works perfectly fine without either Precision or Afterburner being required. They can use one, or the other, or both (not recommended in general), or neither. The OP claims that Precision is ruining his video cards. In such an instance, it is easy to decide to not use the one which is supposedly ruining your video cards.

    "Want" is a key word.

ok,  lets have a 3 position switch  (master /slave / sync the other 2 fans to fan one )

if I was doing 24/7 folding or mining my fans would all be directly connected to a power supply

for now I am using an older version where I can at least double check things on my G19 LCD readout.
Saves having to shine a flash light into the case to see if all fans are going.

I'd love to be able to write the custom curve to the card and then just remove the software entirely.

Precision XOC is a garbage program, thank God I love my EVGA gtx 1070 sc but  Precision XOC does not start up with windows 10 and it also doesn't save custom fan curves.

    Terrible program.

MSI's Afterburner is much better ,I love Precision XOC's interface but if it does not work ,it is pointless.

Do not want to kill off my precious gpu.

drop back to 6.1.16 version and  try .

I know that ALL version of nvidia drives are flawless and NO one would think about dropping back a version or two :-)
