Keep getting the error 12(out of system resources) with more than 6 cards....tried all different configs/settings with no luck, was able to go from 3 error 12's to 1 error 12 by removing one M.2 adapter. anyway will most likely trade out this for a board that is better suited for mining but was hopeful. Just curious if anyone has had luck >6 but i doubt many would use this board for mining so it was worth a shot.

MB & CPU have limited / shares PCIe lanes --> these are hard limits in any build Details of your parts may help others help you CPU ? MB part number ? All items connected to MB & how connected, details ? OS ?

z370 classified k(6 pcie slots and 2 m.2 ports that i was hoping to use for an 8 rig system), i5 8400 cpu, latest windows 10 1803ver. I've got usb risers to all the gpus....just won't go over 6 cards before windows says out of resources.

Found this post (link deleted opps, anyway in summary same issue and no fix) Sounds like this board is a very bad choice for mining....looks like only the asus z370's can go over 6 cards right now, too bad, liked this board.

Seems like wrong CPU for that many GPU - 6 GPU max Other MB devices like M.2 will also take lanes Intel® Core™ i5-8400 Processor Expansion Options Scalability 1S Only PCI Express Revision 3.0 PCI Express Configurations ‡ Up to 1x16, 2x8, 1x8+2x4 Max # of PCI Express Lanes 16 MB manual - page 23 EVGA Z370 Classified K (134-KS-E379) https://www.evga.com/supp.../files/134-KS-E379.pdf PCIe Lane Distribution (All Socket 1151 processors are 16 lanes.) This motherboard does NOT have any lane replication via PLX; all lanes are native and derived from CPU or PCH. This also allows for improved backwards compatibility for Gen 2 devices.

Cool GTX - Mining will use both cpu and pch lanes to mine with. There are even adapters that plug into the M.2 slot to allow you to use it for mining. It's not a cpu issue, it's the way EVGA has setup the bios on this motherboard.

Many boards without PLX chipsets make the m.2 and last pcie slot either/or. My x99 micro2 does that as do other boards out there. The 1st m.2 almost always sucks lanes from the pcie slots and it's usually the last pcie slot.

I was able to get 7 cards to be recognized but could only ever mine with 6 cards. Using an i7 8700k.

Ya I’ve got two m.2 to pcie adapters, they work fine, but no matter the configuration windows will always report lack of resources after the 7th card....too bad a board is solid besides this, but small things like this determine if a board is a success or failure.
