Evga supernova 1000 g3 good day I have a problem
I use a power supply, EVGA supernova 1000 G 3
in ECO mode, the fan is started at the load, so it is written on the website of your company. in Fact, this is what happens. but after turning on the fan in eco mode, it does not stop in idle mode and turns constantly. without changing the speed of rotation ... at the hearing, the RSA is about half. I waited a long time for about 2 hours and cooled all the components to 30 degrees, even tried to pump cool air on the unit but it still works and does not stop, although a very cool air flow blows from it. what could be the problem .please help me. turning the eco button on and off doesn't help. it does not react until the system is completely shut down

    From the 1000w G3 manual...

    Q. What is the ECO Thermal Control System?
    A. The ECO Thermal Control System, when enabled, allows the fan on your EVGA power supply to shut off during low to moderate operation loads. The EVGA power supply’s fan will automatically turn back on when needed, based on the temperature the power supply reaches. The fan will also increase in RPM when needed, based on the load operation being requested from the components connected. This prevents unnecessary rotation, reduces ambient noise levels and will increase the life span of the fan due to the fan not spinning when not required. Please Note: If the ECO Thermal Control is disabled the fan will always spin, even at low loads. The fan will also increase in RPM as needed automatically, based on the power draw from connected components.

The fan will run even with eco mode on if the unit is passed a certain temperature threshold.

Hi Barracuda86 and welcome to the EVGA forums! Your power supply should have a detection tool included as an accessory which you can use to test the power supply by itself. See the following FAQ:

so if the fans are in Eco mode, they won't turn off until the system is de-energized correctly? or they should turn off if it's clean and cool... I cooled down yesterday the power supply unit with air from the street it is plus 5 degrees for half an hour and fans were not disconnected They continued to work

nowhere does it say that the fan should stop at below 40 degrees so I wondered if my unit is OK or everything is fine... for example, the Fan is turned off if the load is below the limit of the Corsair power supply

ECO Mode will turn the fan on and off based on temperature or system load..If any temperature or system load conditions are met, the fan will run.

I would disconnect the PSU from all hardware, so there's no load, and use the EVGA Detection Tool as described above in Post #3 to turn on the PSU and see if ECO Mode turns off the fan when it's enabled and turns on the fan when it's disabled.

tried to make through the detection tools and switched on the ECO mode fashion fan as well as initially disabled ... warmed up slowly by the hair dryer before turning on and immediately stopped heating ... waiting 40 minutes ... the fan dropped the speed but did not turn off.

Sounds like ECO Mode may be bad..Contact EVGA.
