Nvidia really needs to come up with a better product designation if they are going to continue to have sub categories of the supposed same generation with different vram amounts. 

Why when greed is better?  It's not like AMD has anything to offer that's better.  Nvidia is just competing with themselves at this point and they are doing everything they can to ensure they use every single piece of hardware that they manufacture.  1070Ti were failed 1080's and now 1050 3GB are 1050Ti that probably failed mem tests :P
 
Don't forget they made a 1060 5GB for the Chinese net cafe market, which were probably failed 6GB cards.
