So basically you are saying clicking default button and changing fan curves among different choices are allowed while gaming program is running?
Yes..You can change profiles (that include your fan curves or a fixed fan speed) while in-game using Hotkeys while Precision is running, and Precision must be running for automatic fan speed control and changing profiles to work.
After you create and enable fan curves you can save (or delete) them in a Profile by right-clicking on any of the ten the Profiles numbers at the bottom of Precision..Then assign a Hotkey (or Hotkey combination such as Shift + 1) in the Profile tab of the Settings (gear button, bottom-right) to a Profile.
As stated above by Cool GTX, you can apply a manual/fixed fan speed, you can also apply a manual/fixed fan speed and close Precision and the manual/fixed fan speed will remain..You can toggle fan speed from auto to manual, and vice-versa, by clicking the little fan button above the fan slider.
In the Fan Curve Editor, you can delete fan setpoints by clicking on them and then pressing the keyboard Delete key..You can add fan setpoints by clicking anywhere on the fan curve line..You can drag fan setpoints to where you want them, or click on them and use the keyboard Up/Down/Left/Right keys for more precise movement..You can change the fan curve to steppings (and vice-versa) by double-clicking anywhere in a blank area of the Fan Curve Editor.
You can use
GPU-Z and run the Render Test (the "?" button to the right of Bus Interface) for quickly testing your settings/curves.
Again, always close Precision after making any changes, or the changes might not get saved in the .cfg files..And always click the 'OK' button (where applicable) after making changes.
