Not sure what is causing this problem. When I increase my Monitor hertz to 144 the Temperature on my Titan X Hybrid spikes to 70 at idle. When I reduce it back to 60 hertz the temperature falls back to its normal idle of 35-40. Tried driver updated and such but no luck. Any help on this much appreciated. Thanks.

The GPU clockspeed is probably ramping up to base clockspeed at idle and running hotter when your monitor is at 144Hz, which is normal, but I think 70C at idle is on the very high side even for base clockspeed and no with appreciable load..Something seems wrong..What's the idle clockspeed and the maximum GPU temperature get up to when gaming/benchmarking?

You can read through this thread, esp. Post #3.

Sounds like a pump issue to me.

Thanks for that thread. Checking out the card and no longer able to hear the pump or the temperature changes in the lines, seems my pump is dead. Going to buy that Corsair kit to replace the pump and bracket on the card. Thanks for the help.

I hope yopu can still find one  maybe old stock still available   notice on corsairs site the bracket / shroud is / has been  no longer available  through them  .

these are readily available if needed  and compatible with some corsair pumps like the h55  that used on the old 980ti seahawk cards

sad thing is now today the options are getting slim  or if you got the kit for a air card  at least you could put your cards air cooler back on

lol.. this looked interesting  [maybe why the corsairs is no longer available ? ]

Actually funny you posted that video, because I actually looked at it before I bought the items. Because of the sag issue with HG10 I went with the G12 and going to do the heatsink mod instead of the thermal pads. Really liked his idea, also went with a H80i pump, A little more expensive but has the liquid temp monitoring that I wanted.

if it works out  is all that matters   your options keep getting limited  ..   then like corsair discontinued  there shroud bracket thing   . seems they were starting to get a lot of complaints on it [???]

ya, every time I fire up with this hybrid i use I got to knock on wood  ...lol.....

anyway glad you got it going and cooled .

Discontinued because the tech is old.
The 1100 series is right upon us, and no one is going to be making anything for the 1000 series very soon.
    No big conspiracy there.

Thanks EVGA for replacing the whole GPU with a 1080 ti SC2, was happy and overjoyed to get the new version. I lucked out, I thought I only had a 2 year warranty and come to find out it was a 3 year one, and had 20 days left on the warranty. Its so nice to be able to game now without my card thermal throttling.

    Congrats.
It must be nice to have a stable system finally after having a bad one for so long.
    Enjoy it.
