The answer is maybe, if it is a sata based m.2 and you use sata m.2 adapter then yes, bios will see it as just another sata drive. If it's a pcie card then maybe, if the bios sees it and you can add it to the boot list then probably so, nvme drives seem to be more trouble than sata based ones, but if your getting a sata based one then save some money and get a regular sata ssd
