TPM20 in bios

Could someone please give some information about the TPM20 settings in the bios for the Z270 Classified, It is enabled by default but I disabled it until I learn a bit about it. Reason I disabled it also is because it says TPM device detected and I did not add any. Because every time Windows does a big update something gets messed up on my PC I have become leary of things I know nothing about. lol

    Have you tried to do a google search to figure out what the tpm20 settings mean?

    "TPM 2.0 is an international standard led by the Trusted Computing Group. It provides a secure area to store authentication keys built in to the hardware of the device. The TPM 2.0 function can be firmware-based, integrated into the silicon or a module in the device."

    "A number of Windows 10 features, including BitLocker, Credential Guard, Measured Boot, Device Health Attestation and Virtual Smartcard, all require TPM, and their security ought to be improved by TPM 2.0."
     
    Basically its a chip that stores encryption keys for hardware devices.

    Thank you and yes I did a google search and read about what it is etc. However, when it appeared in bios saying that a device was detected without information on which device I wanted to learn more before I activate it to avoid any accidental issues, in case something on my pc that isnt a TPM device suddenly started being detected as one by mistake. So it is an addition to the bios itself?

    I was not sure where on the Forum this was going to be addressed.
