I am looking to replace my motherboard and am looking at a Z270 FTW K.
My question is about memory and case compatibility. My memory is Patriot Viper 4 DDR4 16G (2X8G)3200Mhz and my case is a Fractal Meshify C.
The memory isn't on the QVL. Will this be a problem? I've had issues with a couple mobos for this system (AsRock and Gigabyte) and I want to get this thing finished and running.
Also, I've noticed that a number of the connectors (Sys_Fan, Case_Fan, USB3 etc) are parrallel to the bottom edge of board. Anyone with this board and case have issues with connector clearance and the PSU shroud?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated
Proposed system configuration
i7 7700K
Noctua NH-U14S
EVGA Z270 FTW K
Patriot Viper 4 DDR4 16G (2X8G)3200Mhz
Gigabyte GTX1070Ti Gaming 8Gig
Fractal Designs Meshify C
Corsair RM750x
Thanks

Just because your memory isn't on the qvl list doesn't mean the memory won't work. The qvl list is just a list of memory that evga has tested on the board without any issues.

Do you have the exact model number? Patriot also has their own memory finder, HERE. They have tested some of their memory with the Z270 FTW K, so I would check there.

Here is what was listed by them:

PV416G240C5QK
PX416G240C5QK
PX432G240C5QK
PX416G240C5K
PV432G240C5QK

If you have a moment, please rate my service. We appreciate the feedback!

I've used the RAM Mfg list many times to find compatible RAM not on MB mfg list

Thanks so much for that link, Joseph. I had no idea that memory manufacturers had their own memory tests.
My memory model number is PV416G320C6K
Bummer that mine isn't on the list though. I had issues with an Asrock Taichi with this memory. It refused to post using the XMP and the system was unstable even on the non overclocked speed. I was hoping to avoid the days of troubleshooting that went into that with the new board.
I understand that being either off or on the list is no guarantee of compatibility. Do you think it would be worth the risk with these sticks? I'm not afraid of tweaking it myself if the stock timings will allow me to at least post.
Also, still wondering about how the board will fit in the Meshify with the connectors on the bottom edge. I'm not going to run more than one video card so the extra power connector won't be needed, but the USB3 and fan headers are necessary.

good idea to check as the USB headers point down but at least EVGA has USB 3 extender cables.
on the classified K  I forgot how the  FTW has it but at least there are adapters to help.

some times you can get a single stick of memory to boot--  fix bios --  than install the others

I think I'm going to be okay with the USB header on the right if I remover the front of the PSU shroud. I've got some fan extension cables that should be flexible enough if I pop them on prior to installing the board.

I checked the timings/voltage of my memory kit (16-18-18-36/1.35v) and it looks like a similar set from Geil and Corsair are supported so hopefully I'm going to be okay.
I think I'm going to go ahead and pull the trigger on this board.
Excited about building this thing.

Just as a quick follow-up for anyone who is searching for the Z270 FTW K and a Fractal Designs Meshify case.
The USB 3.0 extension from EVGA worked perfectly. It's a bit of a tight fit but I was able to route it no problem.
I could probably have left the PSU shroud door on too, I just would have had to route it up instead of down.
Also, the memory worked perfectly. Thanks to all of you for being so helpful.

Thanks for the great follow up picture - that really shows how to handle a tight fit.
