GTX 1080 in a mid range PC

Is installing my GTX 1080 going to add enough 3D performance to make a difference in this mid range PC:

BIOSTAR T5 XE CFX-SLI LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel Motherboard

16 GB G.SKILL Sniper 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333

Intel Core i7-860 Lynnfield Quad-Core 2.8 GHz LGA 1156 95W BX80605I7860 Processor
 
All will remain stock clocked.

Windows Ultimate 64.

As of now I have a GTX 670 in it.

    In gpu bound games you should see a nice boost.

    The GPU performance is going to reduced because it's being bottlenecked by such ancient hardware.

    Really it would depend on the game. One that taxes the CPU would but a lot of games are more dependent on the GPU then CPU.
